Almost $20 for Sleazy Motel? Someone please explain

I will not pay nearly $20 for an in-game piece. Can someone please explain how this game works or are people really paying this much?

1. You can play for free and never pay for donuts
2. You can buy donuts (sometimes at full price, and sometimes in small amounts....thus costing more per donut)
3. Hack/Steal
4. Buy donuts when there is a sale
5. Buy donuts when there is a sale with itunes/play cards bought at a reduced/sale price
  • How much is the motel in donuts? I can't see because I already have it. But it's probably only $20 if you buy donuts by the dozen; buy 'em by the boatload and they're $.04 apiece. Buy. 'Em from Gil and they're only 3! At that rate, the motel would have to be 667 donuts to be $20, and I'm pretty sure it's not
  • Did it not happen to barney aswell? Free over christmas but if you didnt get it before the update it was 250 donuts
  • The only things not available to purchase from Whacking Day that were free prizes are...

    1. Fort Sensible
    2. Gymnastics Lisa skin with Balance Beam
    3. Snake Rock
    4. Snake Statue
    5. Bare-Chested Willie skin
    6. Pet Snake

Yes, same with the Try N Save and Mapple Store(For a very limited time)
  • ikr?? in other games (not from EA of course) I could get more "premium money" (donuts in Tapped Out) with the same amount of cash... EA games are always like that, people say. I just had about 600 donuts last month but now I'm down to 162 and cant decide whether to get Abe Lincoln or Duffman or the fireworks!! I would buy more donuts but I feel like I've spent so much in the past few months just for Tapped Out lol...

I don't always have a data signal, so I didn't get the motel from whacking day. My loss, I really want it. I might buy it for myself eventually. Sure it is a virtual game piece, but I don't have anything to show for the smoothies, energy drinks, over priced coffees, candy bars, and other goofy things we all spend a couple dollars here and a couple dollars there without realizing it adds up.

Good point grannybern. Not hard to drop money on S.B. coffee, beer,or going out for dinner with couple drinks, nothing to show for it. It's entertainment.

If these pieces were reasonably priced I'd probably spend a lot of money.

You wont be getting a lot of things in this game then.

If premium items were only a couple of bucks each, then I would certainly drop real life money into the game (which would start to add up) but because they have these items so ridiculously over priced... I resorted to using an unlimited doughnut hack... Im not going to fork out hundreds of dollars like a sucker! Normally Id be against doing something like this, but making everything such a ridiculous price, EA has brought it upon their selves.

Using that rationale, you could steal a Mercedes and feel good about it
