- wadebearRetired HeroOk, so after removing all my Brown Houses (except 1, gotta have 1) I had handshakes everywhere this morning. The abearsanta town was a little light, but I forgot to leave a batch of Blue Houses untapped last night. I remembered today.
Unfortunately, having something NOT happen is not definitive evidence that I've found the problem. I'll have to experiment somehow and I can't think of how to do that without setting up some test Springfields with a bunch of Brown Houses and getting a lot of people to be their neighbors... Without using my own towns as the test subject. Plus I would really need towns without a bunch of Brown houses as base lines to compare.
I'll have to think about it... - wadebearRetired Hero

Um, it sounds like you're contradicting yourself here. Can you clarify?maxeerg wrote:

I've seen them on my Brown Houses, Krusty Burgers, Kwik-E-Marts, and Simpsons House for sure. I'm not sure about anything else. Then again, I keep everything else tapped out pretty regularly when I'm awake. I seldom leave the game for more than 4 hours, and I usually check in every hour or so and tap out the buildings for the cash (I'm back down to $98,537 in my abearsanta game after today's Level 51 purchases, and under a million in wadebear). I'll have to pay closer attention in the future to see which buildings have multiple handshakes.
Oddly, they only seem to show up when I've had the game closed, or I'm in Krustyland or nieghborhood. Possibility: It requires a synchronization for them to show up.
I have some more tests in mind but they require leaving handshakes on buildings... And I just can't stand that! Every time I see a handshake I have a compulsion to tap it. It's driving me crazy to leave the handshakes on the Blue Houses.maxeerg wrote:
The rest of this might not be a glitch. They may have returned buildings back to the way it used to work.
It used to be that handshakes regenerated. Once the building timer ran out, the building was available to tap again. This meant that you didn't often run into towns that were completely tapped out. When you did, you simply had to wait long enough for something like a brown house to regenerate. Multiple taps could go on one building, but the neighbor would only see one handshake.
Well I wish they would just say so if that's the case, instead of leaving us guessing. I know they can post in these forums. - wadebearRetired HeroFirst of all, I should elaborate that none of the double taps I've gotten are ever from the same person. It finally occurred to me that some people thought that I was receiving double taps from the same people. No. Always different.
I can now confirm double handshakes on Blue Houses, Zenith City Apartments, and the Present Depot (metal tree) are possible. I was away from the game for more than 10 hours and I left some Blue Houses, so some of my Blue Houses had time to be tapped, regenerate, and be tapped again.
I did some tests today with my own towns and some of my neighbors:
From wadebear I went into abearsanta and tapped the Simpson's House. 45 seconds later the $ regenerated from wadebear's point of view and I got a handshake from abearsanta's point of view. I tapped it again, but no double handshake ever appeared. I then tapped a Brown House, but forgot to check first and found someone had already tapped it. No second handshake appeared, but I may not have waited long enough before clearing it as a new handshake from myself appeared almost immediately after I cleared the existing handshake.
I reversed games and tapped wadebear's Simpson House from abearsanta. I was able to tap it 3 times in succession, but only got one handshake.
In neighbor's towns I was able to verify that other buildings like the Kwik-E-Mart and Krustyburger also regenerate. Those are the only quick regenerating buildings I could think of and I didn't want to spend all night waiting... I suppose tomorrow I could just tap one building that takes an hour and go back an hour later, but I think we've pretty much established that all buildings regenerate from the visitor's point of view.
I still have a long way to go on both my Squidports so I can test stacking on my own tiles (if I can remember not to tap them), but I'm betting they fixed it so you don't get extra tiles.
Meanwhile, with my extra Brown Houses stored I'm finding lots of handshakes when I get up and clear my town. I still think there's a glitch where if a building is tapped too many times it causes all handshakes to be cleared and possibly locks you off from receiving any more until you log in.
I also think the names are getting mixed up, otherwise why would I have gotten 5 taps on Brown Houses from the same person, while the sixth Brown house with a handshake had someone else's name? It's possible to tap a total of 6 buildings if you tap 2 regular buildings and all 4 graffiti buildings, but you can't tap more than 3 regular buildings. - wadebearRetired HeroCuriouser and curiouser...
Today I went into the town of the only neighbor I know in person - who is my neighbor in both of my games. I tapped 3 Quik-E-Marts, then entered his town in the other game and waited for them to regenerate. And waited. And waited. And waited a little more... They never regenerated. - I am not your neighbor, but I read through this thread and have a somewhat related observation. Maxeerg, you referenced the buildings regenerating and how that used to be the case. But it had not been in awhile, until the most recent update. Another change that I have noticed regarding neighbor visits involves the graffiti on buildings. When I first started playing the game you could do more than three taps per neighbor visits by using the graffiti. If you use the graffiti for your 3rd tap, then while graphic for the spray paint bottle shakes up and sprays, other buildings with graffiti will still be able to tap. You can easily do a 4th, sometimes even more, tap during a single neighbor visit. As I said, this was the case previously, but had been changed during an update long ago. However, I noticed I can now do this again. I have not read any other threads or posts regarding this, but I would assume others have noticed this as well. I thought perhaps this observation is related with the changes others have noticed, such as regeneration.
Anyway, I just wanted to add this. Wadebear, I hope your neighbor visits work properly, I know how it is grinding out those aspirationals. Also, I was wondering who your DSL service was with. I have Frontier in WV, which is hit and miss, but the only option available for high speed. But I haven't had any brackets on my service for day versus night. Just wondering, thanks! - wadebearRetired Hero

Then you must have missed my comments. I couldn't figure out how I was getting more than 3 taps per visitor (though that still doesn't explain getting 5 taps on Brown Houses from the same person in one day). I've been able to get as many as 6 taps in towns where the graffiti buildings are close enough together and I used to NEVER graffiti. (But it's just so tempting...)bradyc79 wrote:

More important for me: my obsessive / compulsive need to have all my neighbors tap in my town...bradyc79 wrote:

We don't have DSL. We have Hughesnet satellite. It's horrible - but it's the only alternative to dial up over decaying phone lines available out here in the hinterlands (33 acres, nearest neighbors 1/4 mile away). We get a monthly allotment of 20 Gigs in the daytime and 25 at night. It used to be worse - we had Daily limits and a couple of Youtube video could wipe us out for the day.
We've been using up our reserve Tokens for the last couple of days to keep on-line at usable speed. We get a free 500 Megabyte token every month - or you can buy them for $5 each. We should still have a few left over when the monthly reset hits Sunday at midnight ( I hope ).
DSL or Cable is on our list of wants for when we sell the place and move, but that won't be for several months at the earliest. - wadebearRetired HeroAs some of you may have noticed I spelled out TAP TILE in the landing zones of my towns. I want to experiment and see if Tile Stacking is back. Not that it will do me any good, since I'll either forget and tap the tile / handshake or hit it by accident.
But anyway...
The abearsanta tile will be ready for it's first handshake about 5:15 tomorrow morning (my time) - or better said: 8 hours from when I post this. Then it will be ready again in another 24 hours.
The wadebear tile has been tapped once, and will be ready again in about 40 hours from now (48 cycle).
I really should plan better for things like this... - I misinterpreted your comments on the multiple taps, sorry. Thanks for the explanation and the info on Hughes net. I have seen their commercials before.
- wadebearRetired HeroWell, I knew it would happen. I tapped the handshake on my Squidport Entrance in BOTH towns...
New tapping dates for the tiles:
wadebear; April 15th, 1 AM
abearsanta: April 13th, 1:15 PM
I need to move the Squidport entrance, but where? If I move it to the north-west corner of my purchased land/water I'll tap it by accident. Same for the south-west corner. If I had a bunch of cash to buy ocean and beach front property I could move it all the way into the south-east corner where there's nothing around it, but I don't think I have anywhere near enough cash to do that....
By just buying the strip on beach front and one piece of ocean I was able to move it way down south-east. It's not all the way, but at least it's out of sight.
Meanwhile... I want to test this crash thing. I moved my Brown house over to my landing zone, so maybe people will tap it and I can count how many handshakes it takes before the glitch occurs and all the handshakes disappear. - mystery2miSeasoned NewcomerI did check your squidports last night, but they weren't ready. I tapped a nearby brown house just to let you know I checked. I will continue to check them when I do my neighbor visits. Your arrows pointing the way are a good reminder. As to how to keep from tapping them yourself, maybe surround them with barbed wire or put something nearby that would look completely out of place like the prison as a reminder not to tap? Then you would see that and go wtf?
