Search the internet for a picture you would like to use. An avatar should only be 150x150 pixels. So search pictures that are that big. When you find one you like, open it up in a new tab. Copy the link in the adress bar. That's your link.

You have to put the link to the image you want to post, between image tags.
At the start of the link put (don't use spaces - I use spaces to show you how it looks)
At the end of the link put (again no spaces)

Instead of typing the tags yourself you could use the button on the edit screen (see below). Put the cursor at the front of the link. Click the img button. Then put the cursor at the end of the link, and click the img button again.



If you post a picture from a hosting site, they usually have an option to copy the complete BB link in one go.

Also, make sure the "Disable BB Code in this message" in the options box is unchecked.
