Exactly. The problem with having a long period of time without things to do is that it makes people realize that the game can be a little boring and they move along. Even when they come back to play an event, it becomes easier to stop again once the event is done.

While I'm sure the game designers may be working on something cool, they should do a better job spacing out content to avoid such downtime.

I think a game like this is bound to result in ups and downs in interest level for its players over time - this isn't like a game that you play through until you 'win' or finish the game and then move on to another one.

I have also been setting my characters on a whole lot of 24 hour tasks and have been logging in much less frequently lately, but I wouldn't say I'm bored with the game just because I log in less often. Just did a bit of redesigning of my studio area this morning and have deleted a few unnecessary houses to free up some room for future content. Definitely still looking forward to what's coming next, especially the Halloween event since I haven't been playing during one yet and would love some of that content in my town!

I used to set my characters on 8-12 hour tasks now it's 24 hour tasks for me.

I had to actually sit there for the third time this summer deleting friends who've stopped playing and some were forum members. I mean I don't know what the developers plans are, but this second round of no new content this year is really starting to get stupid.

They really need to interact with players more and let people in on what their next projects are for this game. One little hint on Twitter ain't much when you consider we haven't had a real update almost this entire summer. Level 43 wasn't that good in my opinion and could've been supplemented with something in the main town...

Anyways I guess we can't do anything but wait and see. Hopefully they come out with something before more players loose patience and quit the game.

PS: For those who think that's a threat, think again. It's fact at this point that people quit this game for lack of good content as of late. I won't quit this game just yet. I'm too far into it to just drop. I'm just glad I didn't drop money on this game. Those are the people I really feel bad for.

I mostly put my characters on 24hr task now but I still visit friends more because of the free donuts then anything else. I felt the last update with KL was a little boring. Hoping for new land expansion to get my interest back up

I hear what your saying folks, but if you ask me, I think this week coming up will make up for the boring first half of the month.

That's great and all, and I'm sure it will be fun, but it certainly does seem like this game is turning into an "event" game, where there is something to do a few times a year during an event and then nothing. I supposed that is what some people like, but others probably prefer more consistent content so there is always a little something to do.

I'm not that bored, as I'm working up to get the last aspirationals that I don't yet have, including our $10mil twirly eatery. :) I also haven't bought all the land yet, but I don't have much left to go.

My opinions on that list (good list, btw)

1) They at least have it planned, I'd betchya. If they're smart, they probably have at least the next 6 months of events planned.

2) I bet they have that ready, at least ready to start the art and script for the new stuff.

3) I hope so! I only go to KL every day to make sure to pop the balloons so I can get the free donuts. :)

4) Least likely, but it sure would be nice.

5) I would love to sign in without having to hit "Retry" 3/4 of the time.

6) If not for the next season, I'm sure a new character or two or three are coming. And I bet at least one of them is one we care about. ;)

Actually i think this game has always been an event game, not a continuous play game like consoles or PSP. But expert players know to prepare for events by playing daily and accruing cash plus maintaining beneficial neighbor relationships.

I am too frustrated to be bored. Sick of the retry screen, sick of crashes. Seems I'm getting more handshakes lately, but they have a ways to go. Hopefully the content delay is intentional while they resolve playability issues first. So I'm doing 24 hr tasks instead of 12hrs or 8 hrs because i don't even want to look at it more than i have to right now.

Can't have a successful event if half the players can't play. Fix the game, EA.
