So far, I can't see any way to get the new land except with free land tokens. I don't have enough to unlock all the new land, but I have loads of in-game coins....

I wish I knew before I started buying. I would have bought one strip instead of starting both. I was just planning on using money for the rest.

Can any players who didn’t have all the land unlocked before this event started comment on whether or not this has changed previously available land? Land that could be bought for cash before the event can now only be bought with tokens? This would completely break the game for new players

hmmm. I didn't count how many tiles there were to buy. I have 8 left from last event and not sure how many this one gives out. What about water?

I had 9 land tokens, which I have now used. The remaining 43 land tiles say I can't unlock as I don't have any free land tokens. The last event I got 8 from. It will be virtually impossible to open all this new land.

It could be that the new land becomes available for cash after the event is over. But I don't think that will be the case somehow.

Edited to add that we might be able to win land tokens in a permanent mini game after the event?

the land is probably a way to get you to right at this very spend your free land tokens on instinct. I bet as the event progresses the grinding mechanic of the three buildings will open the land. Just like SH opens land with a currency, only you have a monorail theme grind to it.....

Anyway I don't think it wise to use free land tokens at all in this moment until the "badlands" are a bit more well defined. I see no relation between the event and the splash screen right now other then Halloween content from years past

They already have characters that can only be obtained with real world cash. At least EA didn't do what Nintendo did, and just give you 10 levels and force you to pay real world cash to continue the game.

YES! Where did my tokens go??? I've been willing to see how this new land strategy plays out but to take the tokens we've already worked hard for is criminal. Hoping this will soon be cleared up!

I can't find mine. I went through the whole inventory. Is there an option to cancel if I tap on new land just to see if it registers that I have any?

Yes you can cancel.
