Most people playing this game (including myself) are impatient and if you have the means to speed things up then most do it. House farming is a way to get the ball rolling, it's not cheating just quicker than relying on characters tasks. Once your town is bigger with more characters it isn't as necessary but it does serve a purpose especially in the early days.No one house farms because it looks pretty (unless you are after that shanty town look). However Jail breaking and ending up with loads of negative donuts etc is cheating in my book. :D

Speeding up tasks and buildings is cheating? That's just plain silly...

Speeding up tasks and buildings can't be considered cheating. Speeding up things for donuts is designed and integrated into the game software. The developers wrote the code for it. They placed buttons on build and task window pop ups which, when tapped, take X donuts from you and speed up completion of the task or building. And, as Melody pointed out, and Neo confirms, it's even in the tutorial. But the simple fact that its specifically designed into the game means its not cheating.

Speeding up is definitely 100% in the tutorial, Homer makes you speed up building the Quick-e-mart cos he doesn't want to wait 4 hours! :D

I don't intentionally speed things up. Sometime I spend before I realize it....and sometimes my granddaughter spends for me. My feeling is have fun.....it's a game!

I never understood why someone would refer to doing something in the confines of a game cheating.

Even doing 2 actions together that result in a third action with in the games true parameters is not cheating.

The only real cheating comes from jailbreaking your device and getting free stuff as that is a real violation of the terms of service.

I doubt in the TOS it said anything about going in and out of a freinds town to increase a bonus that was already built in to the system. Personally I thought the multiplier was part of Christmas. Yet some bitched at us and called us cheaters.

IMO people that jail break to simply have access to better and different apps are not cheaters but ones that do it to get apps that are pay apps or free stuff on a game are cheating.

Nope it's not :-) I don't usually do it tho but that's because I get bored once all the quests are done lol :-) but that's my choice :-)
