It's not really feasible to have lots of different versions running simultaneously, hence forcing an update after a certain period of time if you want to go online with that game/app/video game consol...

i thought something was wrong when i logged in tonight and it forced me to update. i went and checked my feeder town, but i was NOT forced there. so i took the chance and let it force me on my reg town and all turned out ok.
