The game will keep adding new characters, buildings, decorations, skins, expansions & content. It has no intention of slowing down. With 27 seasons of Simpsons history & beyond. Because let's face it, the series isn't going to end anytime soon. The world is rich & the characters will keep coming. It's not going to end.
So rest assured, that the game is going to keep giving us rich content for many more years to come and beyond.
A couple of thoughts. First, didnt the show runner for The Simpsons, Al Jean, recently speculate that the show might end after 30 seasons? Second, I think what the OP is primarily talking about isnt EAs desire to continue developing and marketing the game along current lines, but rather whether hardware and software constraints can stay ahead of the increasing demands made by the continual addition of new land, characters, buildings, etc., etc.
