- I have replaced around 75% of my roads with rivers and kept a road alongside the campfire and roads down from it. It seems to work fairly well for nightmares, but I still notice the odd ones going off to random areas.
Hopefully it helps my neighbours though. - mikepellerin60Seasoned NewcomerThe Nightmares also gravitate towards you when you stand still on a road near the landing zone. Yeah, it takes time, but it's only for 30 friends.
Besides, collecting Nightmares from Friends is not as important as dropping Blobs.
Drop as many blobs as you can, then go back through and collect. But You will only benefit from collecting Neighbors Nightmares if they match what you are collecting. Otherwise the items just go in storage.
Personally, I'm just dropping blobs. - I'd replace/delete my roads if it made it easier to find the formless terrors. But they don't seem to only stick to the roads, so that kills my motivation.
Side note - get rid of your terrors people! You're not helping yourself nor your neighbors by holding on to them! When I pass mine out, I've stopped going to people's towns who have 100+ stockpiled since they're not going to return the favor. Johnny2bd wrote:

I went through and dropped at least 3 per neighbour this morning (approx 40-50 neighbours) and I already have just over 100 terrors again. Having some in reserve also means if I return the terror favour to my neighbour, then they drop again, I can keep dropping terrors. :)- While I certainly understand the benefits to pulling up roads, I'm very happy with my town and much prefer the look of the roads over the pavement. Additionally, I love having all my outside tasks spread throughout my town.
If that makes me a bad neighbor and folks want to drop me, I'm prepared to be ok with that. - I hate how it looks, but I got rid of my roads and I'm really happy I did it. I was on snakes at the time and it really helped. Not all of them went to my one block of roads, but most of them did. Since the game is so slow and laggy, any bit helps and keeps me from throwing my device out the window.
I stockpile well over 100 terrors. I only drop them once a day, so they add up. Then I drop them at a rate consistent with how many I have. Like if I have 248 terrors, I drop two per town. If I had 425, I'd drop 4 per town. jaztee123 wrote:

I agree, I seem to frequently have over 100 terrors. I drop 3-4 terrors in any town I can. It seems like many of my friends are always at 0 able to send. I have a few low level friends, if I can, they get 7-8 terrors since I figure they won't get as much through story telling. Finally, if I see someone drop terrors, I go to their town and load them up hoping their still at the computer and can tap on them.
A better measure would be to look at their "friend ranking". If you click on the metal on the friends screen you first get the Springfield Heights Ranking. There's a second tab for Terror Ranking that scores you based on how many you send, how many you sent got collected, and how many you collected. I may have 100 terror in my inventory, but I'm the 4th best amongst my friends in terror score.wadebear wrote:
Get rid of all those streets!
Neighbor visits have become intolerable with this event. We're spending minutes tracking down Nightmares to tap in your towns where we used to spend seconds. Nightmares (that would be zombies, snakes, bunnies, and skeletons) are attracted to streets. If you have streets all over your town the nightmares will wander all over the place.
You can replace all the streets in your town with concrete. Yes, I know, it doesn't look as nifty. But you get used to it.
Replacing your streets with concrete will only take a few minutes. I was having problems the other day and tried removing all my streets (and concrete street replacements). It took less than 10 minutes. That didn't solve my issue so I put them all back. Less than 10 minutes again - and that included referring to my guide when I couldn't remember exactly where stuff was.
And think of the long term time saving benefits. No more dragging around town looking for invaders that walk the streets- they come right to your remaining street section for you to tap.
Here's my example:
And as a bonus most of your outdoor characters will gather up in that one area as well. No more searching all over town trying to find them. (Certain characters on certain tasks will wander all over town anyway - nothing you can do about that unfortunately.)
Oh, and there's another bonus! When the Formless Terrors appear they pop in on streets. If you only have one area of street you always know where they've popped in. This also helps with dropping them: When you drop a Formless Terror your screen whangs around to a random street area - if there's only one it doesn't have to do that. It also helps with finding the street. Drop a Formless Terror in a neighbor's town where they only have one section of street and you'll also find their Nightmares to tap.
Yuk... Yuk... Yuk.... I laff at you cause you say funny things!- Quite a few of my neighbors got rid of most of their roads, but then quite a few of them have what little bit of road they do have a long way away from their campfire, so either way, it's a hunt. And with how glitchy neighbor visits are anyway, and those damn snakes, it's still gonna take a good hour to do neighbor visits. So... roads, no roads, doesn't matter to me.
- I was going to do this but when I done it to Springfield Heights it was so ugly looking that I put the roads back. I do have a lot of road surrounding the campfire though so at least 3 nightmares will spawn there for neighbours and I also am using decorations to point out which nightmare I'm spawning.
I have four decorations in each corner of the campfire:
Popsicle stick disco stu (zombies)
Tube slide (snakes)
Rabbit hedge (rabbits)
Spooky tree (skeletons)
Whichever one is not surrounded by stop signs is the nightmare I'm currently spawning.
(Thanks to aacRFSO43 for the idea)
I strongly recommend everyone follows this idea.
