Donut price increased AGAIN

I don't mind that the price is adjusted for exchange rates. What eggs me is that the adjustment is only ever UP. When the Canadian Dollar was above the US dollar, did we see a price REDUCTION?

It costs the same no matter where you are well for EA at least. Every country has taxes on products from out of the country, so unless EA has a office in that country they have to pay the tax. So even though you may be paying more EA only gets the same amount as it costs in US dollars. So if you pay 130 Canadian dollars, then EA is still getting $100 in US dollars. So as taxes increase doughnut prices increase. So the only place that is 100% safe from a increase in price is the United States since EA is an American company.

The price increase for donuts (for Canadians) took effect around January 20th, and as several others mentioned it was due to the weak exchange rate. The price for a boatload of donuts went up from $119.99 to $139.99 in Canada, and it's likely that some other countries were affected as well.

The change was not limited to Tapped Out though. According to an article I read, Apple sent a document to developers advising that prices for apps, games and in-app experiences were set to increase near the middle-to-end of January. So If you go to the Apple App Store you'll notice a lot of apps that used to be $1.19 also went up to 1.39. And as someone else mentioned, a lot of in-app purchases in other popular games went up in price as well.

Kinda sucks. When I started playing TSTO, I remember only paying $99.99 for a boatload. Now that it's $139.99 for the same number of donuts, it's a bit harder to justify buying them. Hopefully Gil stops by with a discounted donut offer soon!

One way to help alleviate the sting is to get some itune cards on sale. Best deal I got last year was at costco, $80 for $100.

Off topic for Canadians, if you are thinking of getting an iPad Air3 next month you may want to seriously consider the Air2 now. The current price differential is under 10% on like Air2 models between the US and Cdn models. My guess is that the Air3 will be 30% more expensive than it is today. The Air3 will be nicer and faster and stuff, but is it worth the extra money? Only you can truly decide.

The price here in the Philippines changes almost daily to match the USD equivalent. A boatload is around 4505 Philippine Pesos. It seems like a lot but it's not.

Figuring in the current exchange rate, you have the best deal going.

think it's american exchange rates, this thread comes up on a regular basis.
