Thats why mine is neighbors with arnie now. I got tired of having to hunt the little fucker down every time I tapped him by accident. Hopefully he annoys arnie in there at least half as much as arnie annoys me!

Letting the Elf out on a neighbours Springfield is just for your enjoyment same as launching the space rocket, dropping the New Year's Ball and several other items they only appear to be active as when your neighbour sees them they are in the position that they left them

And I had accidentally let it out in my town last Xmas, and I finally found it in September.

No. Anything you may do in a neighbors town, such as launch the rocket, etc. has no effect on the neighbors town in reality
