Gifts not showing up bug? or something else....

I know that when I leave my wife gifts and she collects them right away there has been 1-2hr delay with the notification. Same with when she leaves me gifts. Not sure what the reason is behind it but ...

1.) Notifications tend to go wonky during Events, at least in my case.

2.). The 'Present Indicator' (top right corner) that appears when visiting Neighbors shows how many presents *you* currently have available to give others, as opposed to how many they can receive.
