Gifts not showing up bug? or something else....

I know that when I leave my wife gifts and she collects them right away there has been 1-2hr delay with the notification. Same with when she leaves me gifts. Not sure what the reason is behind it but ...

My husband and I always drop gifts for each other in the same spots but three times now I've dropped gifts for him that never show up. I get more drops from friends than he does so I always pay those back first and give him the rest. He missed out on 6 gifts yesterday because they never appeared, AGAIN. :x :x :x
