- He probably realized how fun the Tap Ball event is.
- AnnathewickedRising TravelerYay? As much as I love this show, people holding out for money, doesn't make me think yay........... I think, how many people could you feed @ $300,000 an episode? I want the show to continue, but at what cost? Now we can all hold out for more $$$$ under threat of the show crashing to a halt without certain people- ridiculous.

I'm happy for Shearer and the show's fans, I guess. But am I the only one who feels The Simpsons is long past its sell-by date? I think they should give it a grand finish and quit milking it for all it's worth. Then again, I quit watching around season 12.
Sorry, I am happy for you folks. I'll just continue to pretend it went off the air in 2001 or so.

Simply couldn't disagree more... Said it before & will say it again; it has gotten consistently better every single year in all aspects of poignant, solid, humorous writing, artistic concept, quality & overall design; in my non-humble opinion 8)

Wrong, he wasn't holding out for more money. And in the end he didn't get more money because he signed the original contract, the same one all the others signed.
And frankly I'm sick of people who say the show isn't good, or it isn't as good as it used to be. It's still damned good. The ones that say how it's not good anymore haven't watched it in 15 years, so they don't know.
I'm glad he's back on board though. His characters are very important.- smohqyNew Spectator

Yup! I was around 20 when the series started. Over half my life has had The Simpsons in it, and I wouldn't mind one bit if they continued for the rest of it. Anytime someone says The Simpsons hasn't been funny/good since season (insert arbitrary number here), I have only six words to say:
Don't like it? Change the channel. starstrucsims wrote:

Sorry, but that's not true. I have watched a few episodes that I caught in syndication when my kids were watching them, and I saw the Christmas disc episodes. I smiled a few times; I even chuckled once or twice. But the full-on belly laughs and appreciation for the sarcastic wit? Nope. Not there. So I don't change the channel, because I don't even turn on the set.-
