- For me it's guns. Guns, guns and more guns.
I don't craft anything else. I have 7200 pick axes, 10,000 hats and only 3600 guns. - I've pretty much had to keep a constant rotation of everything. Things seem to come up in bunches so I'll burn through one thing at a faster rate than others, but then it'll be something else the next day.
I'd say overall it's pretty well balanced. - wadebearRetired HeroI have done nothing but produce guns since this Act started. Current totals are 14768 Pickaxes, 14460 Hats, 4618 Guns.

This. ^
Perhaps that's due to each of us having our own way/style of playing?- I've been almost exclusively collecting guns to keep up, switching to hats once a day or so, and only for a few characters, and have way too many pickaxes so i haven't jobbed for them once this act
- guns through most of act 2, had to switch to pickaxes Wednesday
- Guns and axes for me. Which sounds like a rock band. 8)
- AnnathewickedRising TravelerBack and forth - Guns, Hats, Guns, Hats
I need a constant supply of both, but I only caught on to the different getting riled up tasks toward the end of act1...... - otherwise I would be further up in hats I bet - Just like every other crafting system in TSTO, the game's algorithms calculate which resources are scare when generating purchases at the General Store. So if you are low on hats, most of your new options for exchanges will be hats. It's not a random task generator, but one that's designed to make it more difficult for you to meet the goals.
That's why I have 6,000 hats and 0 pickaxes right now.
I found a way to "cheat"* the monorail system to even out its crafting jobs, but it hasn't worked as well for me on Wild West, mostly because I haven't stuck to the same plan and haven't needed a strategy to beat the goals.
* I get the 5 donuts every week on monorail. The monorail system will overload crafting tasks to scarce resources so the best strategy is to craft above the limit (i.e. 200 for metal) and then pick the least costly option. Say, if you have 250 metal and all of your crafting options are metal, pick the 30-40 metal option rather than the 155 one, and the next task that will pop up most likely won't be metal, but plastic or glass. Then pick that one again, which will start to even out your resources. If you pick the 155 metal option, it usually gives you another metal task because your metal supply is so low.
I believe the Wild West functions on the same system. The wrench is that you have to craft 5 items to get the daily prize, so you should be focusing on maximizing the resources/payout ratio until you've got the daily prize and all of the overall prizes as well. So it's not as simple as picking the smaller choice ... - Think that the random selection of items sometimes gets stuck on one item more than the others leading to an imbalance in the required items, so far during act 2 I've made nothing but guns guns and more guns the other items have been replenished by the bandits etc, sometimes random selection just isn't random enough.
