Hello everyone and happy easter!
With this post i just want to point out how SH design could be improved.
With the maximum of characters we can produce 7 yoga mats every 8 mins. It means 52,5 yoga mats per hour.
But producing pills we use 6 yoga mats every 12 mins (30 per hour) and producing ads we use 12 yoga mats every 16 mins (45 per hour).
So we produce 52,5 yoga mats per hour but we consume 75 per hour... In order to fix this we would need a character producing 25 yoga mats every hour like Number one that produce 15 coffes every hour.
Am i missing something? Am i right?
EA, this is not difficult to implement! :)
EA did not make a mistake, error, or mathematical miscalculation. While your logic seems to be correct at a mathematical level, TSTO is a game, it's purpose is to make money by selling virtual items for real world currency. By slowing down the game, they make it last longer until you get 10 of everything, and keep you playing more. At some point, you might be willing to buy donuts to buy premium characters or to speed up tasks.
This casino event has proven math is not EA's main goal. The numbers 2 and 12 in the dice game appear too frequently, the Royal flush in Homer's House of Cards appears to frequently, and Moe's slot machine is way too loose. Several other forum members tried to do a mathematical analysis of the 3 games to find the optimal strategy to maximize red, green, and blue chips, but those threads have fallen silent, as people figured out the RNG is biased, and the games are designed to let you win.- Ive maxed out all my SH and found that sending the pill characters on hours tasks when mats ran out allowed a buildup of mats again, once they had done an hour elsewhere they were able to produce more pills. Its all about finding the right balance. Good luck.
- Yeah, not an error in game design as far as being unintentional. It's an error in game design as far as annoying your players, but EA's never really worried about that. Guess it hasn't hurt them, though.
- I agree. I don't think it's simply "it's a game" and "designed that way". Before SH2 there was not a crunch on mats. Your numbers prove that it is ridiculously imbalanced now that ads scoop up more mats than pills do, which more than doubles the consumption. With SH2 should have come a yoga mat producer like Number 1 -- like you say, one for each resource. That change would have been fairer. Then it's fine to create imbalance within the SH1 world because it can be offset by the new character tasks.
- AnnathewickedRising TravelerHo would you do this?
