You can't. Tapping gamblers is the only other way to get material and their drops are horrendous.
You also get materials through daily tasks, but it's unpredictable.
I've had 2 since it started. One gave me three donuts and one 25 chains. I'm on 7/10 to level 2 and just got the silver tower.
