- When I first started playing, visiting neighbors (and being visited by neighbors) seemed to be integral to progressing in events. Since then, EA has made almost every event playable with just a handful of neighbors so I no longer cull my neighbor list. I have two neighbors who haven't logged on in over a year, but I like their towns so much that I've never deleted them. After an event with currency, their towns usually reset and everything is tappable again. I am probably their only active friend so I almost never succeed in exhausting their town before the next event.
Although it is super easy to delete and add new people, the new ones are rarely any better than the old unless they're forum regulars. - I've been playing since March and have yet to delete. I have hidden several neighbours who have been inactive for over a month, but I don't see the need to replace those neighbours yet. It takes enough time already to go through the list of active neighbours, and I've been able to finish events without needing more neighbours to tap on my town. Just had a neighbour (whom I had hidden) come back from a long absence, so you never know.
- *runs off to visit neighbours*
- After 4/5 weeks.
When there's nothing tappable in a town I verify how long they haven't played, if it's over 5 days I hide them. Then I check in on them from time to time and finally delete after 4/5 weeks (so I'm sure it's not just a glitch or a Holiday). I prefer to have active forum members as you can easily check in on them here. I admit I haven't been around for a while (holidays and a new job) on the forum.....but at least I still see everyone in the game. - I used not bother and just leave them, but now if it's been four weeks or more, I delete.

One neighbor was gone for 1 day but had nothing to tap so I dropped them
Another neighbor has been gone 16 weeks but I'm still able to dump trash into their Krustyland so I have no reason to dump them
It's never about how often you play. It's all about having something for me to tap :D
this, more or less.... as long as I have something to tap (especially during events), I don't even bother to check when their last login time was.... if there's nothing to tap, I'll monitor their last login, but I still won't boot them until it's been 3-4 weeks... (just booted two today for that, and sent out two new friend requests to refill the slots)- Sorta related, but I started tracking how many neighbors are tapping my town this event. About a 1/3 of my friends leave garbage in my town. Is that about in line with what others get? Been wondering if I should be looking for folks who are more into the events like I am.

Same for me. I think the problem is your username starts with "M" like mine. Some people think that if their name is at the end of the alphabet they get skipped. That may be so, but I go through my neighbors from Z-A so I can tap the arrow with my left thumb. People in the middle get skipped more IMO. I also think that some people only tap neighbors until they stop getting event currency. This event is a little different because having every neighbor give you 3 taps is beneficial. Normally I don't care if neighbors visit, but having 100 neighbors could potentially yield 300 duct tapes every day! I don't remember an event like this for a long time. Seems kind of selfish to me to have 100 neighbors and only visit the first 30 to get what you want!
So bottom line, please visit ALL of your neighbors! - 1 week during events unless I haven't been able to tap their town for 72 hours.

can't say I pay attention/keep track of how many visit me (nice if they do, especially during events).... but I try to make it a point to get through my entire neighbor list daily... the occasional bonus donut is always a nice thing to nab while tapping through them all (picked up 4 yesterday)
