The game periodically reports back to EA servers, which is why you can tp 3 items in a town then crash, go back in and find you still have 1 item to click.
If your game reports back during your tapping it might result in tapables disappearing. If you have already clicked on 3 items you would be credited with the 3 (as your game does not need EA server permission to credit you).
I guess EA servers deal with the double click in som way. That might explain why sometimes when you tap handshake you see one name and then when i refreshes and you click on it again you see a different name sometimes?
