I imagine some of them sitting there with spreadsheets. Hmmmm, neighbor X click on my Kwik-e-mart on Wednesday...
THAT is too funny!!
Spreadsheets?!?! :D I cannot even fathom having time for all that. ( or the desire)
Many of us do have spreadsheets. Someone just sent me one by email. This is GAME- you play to win.
How exactly do you win???
I am intrigued....
My husband asks all the time "did you win yet?" . I just smile and nod.- As I am reading all of these spreadsheet details, I can't help but feel like there's an entire level of genius out there that I can barely perceive, let alone grasp and utilize. Like when Salieri explains that he feels that God has given him just enough talent to appreciate Mozart 's music, but never create such beauty on his own.
When I am keeping tack of visits, I write down who came by on a scrap of paper. If I am not near my scrap of paper, I write on the back of my hand. I don't keep track of what they tapped, or anything else. Not a lot of room on the back of my hand, you see.
Are you that organized about everything else? Are your bills paid on time, and does your house get cleaned in a regular, orderly rotation? I bet you don't stand in front of the fridge each night at 5 while a horde of hungry children mills about your feet and you think, "Hmmm, dinner again? Didn't we just do that? Oh it's been a whole day already? Let's see, we've got celery, ketchup, spaghettios, 3 slices of bread, and Cap' n Crunch!"
Please tell me such organization can be taught? hipmama197190 wrote:

 I started out by taking screen shots of the game as the little name floated up from the tapped handshake. My phone photo album was full pictures of TSTO buildings.hipmama197190 wrote:

Personally, I cheat. Google 'Freezer Cooking'...cook one day each week, play with your spreadsheet the other six days.hipmama197190 wrote:

Bills, yes, cleaning whenever I feel like it, no to 5 children. LOL. Though I do stand in front of the fridge at 5 and think dinner again?? Though my fridge is more stocked than that.
Unfortunately, I think you have to be born with the love of spreadsheets. I don't think it can be learned.hipmama197190 wrote:

Short answer? Yes and yes. It can definitely be taught. You just start off with the big things - say, meal planning - and once that's just "the way you do it", you add another thing, until one day you realise that you bought a label maker, labelled all your plugs, and ENJOYED it. Then you hide your organisation from the world in shame, but secretly, love that your husband can wander in and say "have you seen my..." and you know exactly where it is. Or, "I think we'll have enough to redo the kitchen next month", and you can just smile and nod, because you already have it planned with a little scale diagram and time plan and a budget and you know it's up-to-date because you price checked a week ago.st33lcas3 wrote:
This is for all you players using spreadsheets...

I get paid a lot for spreadsheets. It's my job. :) I like numbersArlandria606 wrote:
Please, go easy on those of us with spreadsheets. It's a very serious problem, and we can't help it. Just this morning I was explaining something to another player and before I knew it I had made a spreadsheet that calculates your revenue, factors in your multiplier, and models how your revenue will increase based on purchases of specific buildings, characters, and multiplier-increasing decorations. I didn't mean to. I have no use for it myself. But there it is, in all its colour-coded, data-validated, cell-protected glory.
As for the whole tapping thing - to each their own. Everyone should just play the way they want to and find like-minded friends. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun. Play however it's fun for you. But don't come on the forum whinging about everyone else doing it their way. That's just... well, rude and childish. As for whinging about people whinging, that's just meta. Or Inception-esque. Either way, there's no point to it (unless Tom Hardy's gonna show up, in which case, call me ASAP), so hush.
Now. Back to those spreadsheets, a much worthier topic...
That is A-Freakin-Mazing! I'm in awe. And I'll bet it didn't even take you that long to create it, whereas if I did it, it would take weeks. Wow! :Dhipmama197190 wrote:

Thanks! I started it yesterday morning, dipped in and out over the day while deep-cleaning the kitchen, finished it off this morning. Maybe 3-4 hours total, plus a couple of hours of thinking about it first? Something like that. When my 10-year-old self wanted a Playstation, I made a spreadsheet to persuade my Mum she should buy me one, and it worked, so now I'm convinced they're magical wish-fulfilling things :) I posted a link to it in the FAQ & Guides section if you want to see.- The scary thing is that right now, if you asked me about any of my 100 neighbors, I could probably tell you whether or not they visit, if they have tiles, are forum regulars, etc. For some reason, at least right now, I'm able to remember it. I've been very tempted, however, to do the spreadsheet thang.
