But that info in that post doesn't contradict what I was saying... Once someone moves into Issue 2, they'll only earn pies, not rods. HOWEVER, if they haven't moved into Issue 2, they'll still earn rods until they finish Issue 1 and move into Issue 2.

If you could just keep playing issue one as long as necessary, no need for using donuts. So yeah, sorry, it does contradict what you were saying.
I guess we'll see...but this would be the first time a player who started late might be in a position of having to pay donuts just to continue playing an event (rather than just missing out on some prizes).
