Forum Discussion
- Playing since Sep 2012, had my last major culling after WD. Since then, my neighborinos list has been pretty solid. I have some great long- and not-so-long-time forum regulars, some not-so-regular players, and I leave 10-15 slots open for random folks because I like to see lower level players growing their towns and a change of scenery.
At this point, I've been playing long enough that I don't really care how often my forum-regular friends visit. They're a great group of dedicated players. We maybe don't visit so often between events, but I can pretty much count on all my regular neighborinos to be there during major events.
Some random folks have earned a permanent place on my neighborinos list, some have not. As long as my random neighborinos grow their towns and are active during events, they're okay by me. But if they don't grow their town or actively play during an event, I give 'em the boot. rosesgirlnz wrote:
I tapped on my last tile the other day so I no longer have the tile option
I cried a little inside when I saw that, in fact I said, right out loud, "Noooooo Rose!" and got  looks from my family ha ha.- Well I just started playing September 7, so far I have kept all of my original neighbors. BUT...out of 100, I have 10-20 great neighbors that visit anywhere from daily to weekly. They always tap tiles, CH 6, stage or farm. I never thought about a spreadsheet though!! LOVE that idea! On my to-do list! Right after I dig in and clear out some neighbors, lol!
- None of the above (flying monkies). My friends are all pretty active. Every once in a while someone gives up, and by this I mean their town shows no growth for a month or more, and then I delete them. I once had someone (an over-ambitious house farmer) write, "I quit!" in hedges, but I still gave him a week in case he changed his mind.
- I used to watch the update section and add people that my friends were adding. But I always end up with crappy neighbors who don't do anything whatsoever. Trying to build up a good set of serious players now.
- I love spreadsheets. When I found myself making a spreadsheet documenting locations and types of all my spreadsheets, I figured I should rein it in a bit. ;)
- I have all my townsfolk wandering around waiting for the update. They usually are on a task but I'm giving them time off for good behavior.
The reason I cut people loose between events is, I'm a daily player. I visit my list almost every day and enjoy seeing other people's towns. If it's a particularly nice town, I nose around and look at how they've layed it out. I don't expect everyone to visit daily but a couple times a week is appreciated. I have tons of money, I have loads of Squidport tiles and don't want more... I have dozens stored. I like having forum users as my neighbors. But by keeping the non-active players, I get confused since user names can be very similar and until I get in their town and see they haven't been there for weeks, I just keep visiting until, like today, I do a cleaning.
I'm down to about 40 neighbors but ideally, I'd like to have around 75.
I don't give a darn about what people tap in my town but I do notice when people make an effort, they are always forum regulars who go a bit out of the way. I also understand when visitors graffiti since there are times when there's nothing else to do in my OCD Springfield. I like seeing El Barto sprayed around. lyndon928 wrote:

I notice you are new. Hang around the forums and check out the OPS about the Squidport Tile Glitch.annettemarc wrote:
