Although the idea has merit, this could lead to misunderstandings. If the sign is out as a just deco, people may stop visiting... And if the neighbours don't visit the forum/don't visit the forum on a regular basis they won't know what this means or that this is how they should indicate they are away. (I do realize John is probably joking somewhat with this idea...).
