A new subforum is not likely to happen, and if it happens it isn't likely to work properly. (Finding friends doesn't work for everyone.)
Message written in town isn't practical for most people.
Threads that weren't actually to make an announcement regarding the game/visiting were all locked, and will continue to be if they're in game discussion. But if you actually have something to say about your game, posting here is still the best way to communicate with dozens of people at once.
I've covered all of this multiple times. Don't know why I'm bothering to cover it again because clearly no one reads what I post.
