Pay dollars for Nightime mode?

I wouldn't pay a penny ever again as I've put thousands into this game over the years.

The events get mundane, and things like this would have people playing more.

It has been occasionally requested by other users over the years, but the general view has been that we are not likely to see this feature.

It'd probably be too extreme on the servers. I mean, if the game was like real time; maybe it could work...

But, those nighttime hours would put too much stress on the servers. And during a major event; there would be a big uproar if the servers were to crash or something.

Here’s a pic from an old 2013 thread on this subject in which a user employed an image manipulation program to show what TSTO “night mode” might look like. The image highlights some of the issues that one might want to consider for a possible night mode. Are we talking about merely changing the color of the sky, or perhaps also programmatically changing the color/shading of all objects, or something even more involved (as in this image) which involves detailed alterations of characters and buildings (e.g., lit windows, street lamps). Of course, the more elaborate the conception of night mode, the more work is involved for EA developers — perhaps to the point where the idea becomes cost prohibitive. And none of this addresses @OhHappyJays ‘s point about app stability.
