I won't be doing much with the buildings and decorations related to the event until after it's over or until I get everything. There's no point in doing much with these items since we'll be getting more and for me, since I have so little land.

You are correct. To be fair, though, the graphic is shaped exactly like other gates in the game.

Even it you know it's a parchment you admit it looks like a gate. It works like a gate as it keeps people out. I also set it up as a gate. even added a non functioning doorbell (actually it is a functioning doorbell, I just had the volume down)
