Random people visiting my Springfield

There are 2 situations that I know of that do cause this ...

1) a neighbor changes their screen name ... I've done it just for fun ... as far as I can tell, you can change your screen name as many times as you want using the Origin client

2) a player gets the "wrong" Springfield when they login ... if you log in using your proper Origin ID, and the EA serves you the wrong Springfield, you then will see the neighbor list of that player, and you can visit and tap all those neighbors, but any taps you do will register under your userid, and not the userid of the player who owns that SF that EA logged you into. So ... what may be happening is someone who is not your neighbor has been incorrectly logged in to one of your neighbors SF's, and so they tap you as a neighbor SF but the handshake you see has the Origin userid of the actual player who tapped you and who is not your neighbor. Got it? Good!

@MuleHeadJoe Also I don't have any friends that have any of those ppl that have tapped my Springfield... I've asked every single one of them. And its also hard to confirm your theory that someone has the exact friends list or anyone complaining about being in the wrong Springfield. I strongly believe its something else.

It has happened a couple times, but not for everyone who visited.

I've been getting notifications on my Android almost constantly that people are visiting me. I have notifications turned off and also under app setting on my phone notifications aren't allowed. So I have no idea how it's happening, it's very annoying. There's no sound luckily though, or else I'd have to delete my favorite game if it didn't stop.

Sideshow Bob got Apprehended in my town by someone not on my friend list.

that's the thing ... the strangers are getting access because the EA server served them the wrong Springfield ... these "wrong" players are not friends / neighbors to you or anyone on your neighbor list, they just got to your SF because the EA server glitched. Have you seen all the threads about people logging into the 'wrong' Springfields? That's what's happening. There are tens of thousands -- if not hundreds of thousands -- of people playing TSTO. Only a tiny minority ever come to these forums. The likelihood of you or your neighbors knowing who glitched into the wrong Springfield is infinitesimal.

I brought this up before.....this has been happening to me for awhile now. I'm also getting "FRINK" a lot instead of a name. I freaked when it started happening, thinking these odd names were people getting logged into my town in error and were spending my donuts! But, that's not happening.......I never see the odd names come up when tapping handshakes. WEIRD!! And it's only happening in one of my towns.

I started my own thread, not realizing that another thread already exists. I was sent here by another member so that I could read the posts.

And now... I'm FREAKING OUT!!!

Today, I was visited by 'FRINK'!!!! You and I aren't neighbors, and with all the players there are, HOW IN THE WORLD could BOTH of us be visited by the same non-neighbor???

This is weird. Very, very weird!!! :shock:
