By the way, I'd love to see the response for long-time iOS-players, if EA gave us Android users exclusive content, you weren't entitled to, because you had a different system, even though you have been playing from day one!
I can't speak for everybody, but my response would be the same, "Oh well, too bad I don't have the system that has that content, but I certainly don't have some inherent right to it if I don't meet the prerequisites of having it installed on one of those systems on the correct day."
That may be, we will probably never no, as I can't believe EA would do something like that now. If they did, about launchtime for Android would have been the correct time.
Anyway, I'm unsure why you keep saying that newer players "feel entitled to" older content. It's more a hope for us, and something we feel EA should do, more than something we feel entitled to. There's a good chance alot of the previous content will never be available again, and we will of course cope with that.
Though I hope you agree that it's a good move for EA to release older content for new users. That means EA will have more revenue, and be more inclined to make new content for all players. It's easier to make available yet again, what is already made, than to programme and come up with new characters, designs, dialogues, quests, decorations and buildings. I do hope you see how this benefits all players in the long run?FluidEmotion wrote:

I started this post and i'm glad to see not everyone is as greedy as the rest.....i do agree that the donut buyers are what keep the game going if a new player wanted a building that someone got the first day playing then why not allow that person to buy that item i hope EA comes back out with old stuff just to * the "high class" players off...sorry but like i have read thousands of times on this page it is afterall just a game
Going to say, you sound greedy yourself to just for wanting things older players got, not by wanting, but by just playing the game. Hopefully though, you'll never have the chance to obtain promo/tie in/limited timed items, etc. You don't always get what you want and i hope EA does this to * you off.
Wow, just wow... You seem like a generally great guy, SirEdgarA... It seems you'd be the type of person that sees poor people, and think to yourself, I hope they never escape their poverty, so that I can feel better about myself...
Wow, you're taking what i said about a greedy person, out of context. Good job going with your assumption though.mio64 wrote:

Time machine.
(Oops. Just noticed you're new and were probably sincere. My snarky response notwithstanding, I'm afraid I can't help you, as I don't even know what that is.)SirEdgarA wrote:

If you go back to the very first post you will see i said "should EA re-release older buildings not once did i ever say I WANT......you need to get off your high horse i'd hate to be the person who took your parking spot after you waited there 2 min to get it.....I could care less what buildings i get and which ones i don't get i'm content playing the game the way it is......also i was simply wanting to know where they came from as well....being a new player sorry i haven't sat in front of my phone hour after hour day after day playing a game that has obviously ruined your life......lntpbhlnh237 wrote:

"i hope EA comes back out with old stuff just to * the "high class" players off," Whats this about not wanting? could of swore this was posted by you on the 5th page.
"i hate how marge has the task but there is no way of getting them again.. should EA release these buildings again," Would imply you actually do care about what buildings you have and don't have, you obviously don't seem content with how your current town is.
You'll eventually be a player who has spent hours in game next year by now. Not sure how playing this game every day or two ruined my life.thatguamguy wrote:

You see, EA makes content to earn money, and the more they earn, the more content updates we'll get.
This is specious reasoning. If they can make money off of re-releasing previously created content, why would they bother spending money on creating new content?
Sorry, but I disagree with this. Can you think of a time this actually happened? Can you think of a time that a corporation became complacent about maximizing their profits?
They CAN make money doing this. I'm old enough to remember when videos were only available on BetaMax. Millions rushed out and bought Betamax players, stocked up on movies, and others did not, for a variety of reasons. Along came VHS, and the same movies were re-released in that format, plus all the new movies were released in both formats. :) (Actually, Sony made some restrictive deals with some film studios, but that blew up in both their faces. )
My point is, there was no stoppage of making videotaped releases just because plenty of profit could be made by sale of already released content.
(Annette looks at carton in closet filled with old Betamax movies.) (Annette sighs.). :wink:Micaela2409 wrote:
I play the game since May and I couldn't care less for older buildings. However, I happilly bought Witch Marge as soon as it was available this halloween. It was the only thing I was really jealous about older players. So... yes, EA, it worked, you made me spend money in this game.
And relax, guys, it's a game! It's supposed to be fun...
I have to say, I'm a bit curious about these statements. Micaela is far from the only one in this thread, making this statement. As I see it, a little heat in a debate, is a good thing, then you know the ones you are discussing with, actually have invested some feelings into the matter themselves. Making their statements more sincere.
Of course there is a line that people shouldn't cross, but if you discuss on the internet, you should actually be able to tolerate a bit more than usual, because the climate may often be construed as a bit harsh. Though as long as someone isn't rude, or trolling, I think most things should be accepted. Atleast if you are an adult, you should tolerate a bit of heat, without crying out. I honestly think most people on these forums behave quite well, even though we have some heat from time to time =)
@Micaela: I started in May myself, and like you, there are only just a few previous things I'd really like, although I have bought most previous and new Halloween items (I'm a sucker for spooky stuff). What I have wanted is Witch Marge, Kang, Cool House/w Cool Homer, Shauna and Tom O'Flannagan. So far I have been able to get two of five, and I hope I'll be able to get the other three in the future :)- I'd just like to throw in my two cents here. I've been playing since it was first released and lurked these forums for a long time. I've acquired quite a bit of items, holiday, season premiere one offs (Duff racer for example), etc etc. I think it's a great idea to re-release content for newer players. It really is a win win. EA releases them for donuts and players get an opportunity to get an item thet really want. The only people who suffer are players whose egos are easily bruised because some filthy undeserving n00b got Frinks car. It literally has 0 effect on you negatively if content is released again other then reminding you that you aren't a special snowflake.

It is always great to see yet more "veteran" players showcase this view. Perhaps some of the more egoistically inclined players after awhile will come to accept that it IS actually benefiting them too, if new players put more money into the game.- Episode tie-in booster pack (Cool Brown House,Springfield Falls,Fruit Bat-man Signal , Grampa's outfit,Duff Racer) for (example) 35000$
