I do like the fountains and the stars. I hate what a chore it is to craft multiples of the same item, though. It's a slow process - it'd be nice if we could specify a number we want to craft of each item so we don't have to do it one at a time...
I would be happy if the menu didn't close after crafting each item.- I think what bothers me about crafting is not the rate at which we get the currencies to craft with but that they couple that with unnecessary complicated methods and what hot so that we are meant to wait until the very last minute to craft everything we want. Previous events this was because you didn't know if you would have enough of one particular currency so you couldn't make any progress in crafting stuff until you were sure you had enough. This time around they compounded that by adding in a pointless craft level up portions to be able to craft everything. And so in act one it appeared to be impossible to ever happen because of how few you actually got. As a result our brains process that with fight or flight response. Fight = you panic and flight = you tell EA put the game where the sun don't shine and maybe stop playing forever. As a developer myself the way they designed it this time has me baffled. They need to get back to the KISS principle.

Your brain may have processed it like that, but mine did not. There was a third option that some of us decided on, which was to keep back all crafting materials until act 3, then upgrade and craft towards the end of the event when you can see which materials to upgrade with. The information that LPN provided about the gaming tokens suggested that they would be around for the whole event and used for all the games and this has proved to be correct. Also game tokens have been available to buy in the store too. I like the fact that they try out different game styles. It would be quite boring if they used the same gameplay every event. - Which of the casino games would be the best place to get resources? I'm quite behind, but I do have lots of tokens saved up.
@roperlego859 - That's a very gorgeous and stunning display! :) roperlego859 wrote:

Yup - that'd be a big improvement! Anything to make it more convenient to craft multiples...Muhsterino wrote:

That's a good point. For all the complaining we do about EA's "missteps", it's nice that they shake things up, as events are less predictable.
In my nearly 3 years of playing, though, I don't recall an event where I went from "it's impossible!!!" to "yawn" as quickly. For Acts 1 and 2, crafting materials were at such a premium that I really was a bit nervous about getting them all.
I know, I know - we panic every event and they end up fine (except for Easter 2014), so I should've gone with that. Still, resources came in such dribs and drabs that I began to worry this would be another nailbiter.
I was turning down free donuts from the Daily Challenge in the hopes that I'd get resources, for God's sake!
So I went from "gimme more tickets/martinis!!!" on Thursday to "crap - more tickets/martinis???" on Saturday. That's a turnaround I've not experienced in this game! :-)chippers29775 wrote:

I honestly don't think it matters. Everyone's tried to figure out a pattern/advantage and I don't think one exists. Just keep tapping/playing and it'll all work out!
BTW, I hope this thread doesn't look like I'm "gloating" that I'm so far ahead when I know not everyone is in the same position. I'm a pretty hardcore player - I don't speed with donuts but I go on the game many, many times a day, so I'm gonna keep the crunching moving.
Anyway, I don't want this to be a "look at me" thread - I ran it because I really don't recall ever going from famine to feast as quickly as I did with this event!roperlego859 wrote:

I invested in my own little fountain garden as part of my Casino District center!

Articulated perfectly - this was my strategy all along. Once I saw no time-dependency (eg. many events you need to craft a prize that can start to produce event currency), and that the tokens were likely here to stay, I waited and gathered information and suppressed the knee-jerk reaction to start crafting/upgrading right away. Right now I still have yet to craft a single item, or buy a single level upgrade. Now, rather than blowing 50 keychains/40 coasters per level upgrade, I can strategically spread out my crafting resources to level up so that I can pick and choose what I want to get near the end of the event when I know exactly what I have to work with. This will reduce redundancy (eg. being stuck with a disproportionate number of Fountain type 4's because that's all I have in the end).
