Server down again jan 2 2015 9am est

Try again. No problems here (for the first time in a while :) )

I haven't been able to log on through WiFi for days now. I have to switch off WiFi to log in. At least I have plenty of 3G data that I can use but it really isn't good enough.

I'm in the UK and am looking at the forum for help because I'm getting the Bart screen again. You're not the only one with problems.

Yesterday was annoying. I was planning to play last night and spent hours tapping 'retry'. Eventually I managed to connect. I'm feeling unhappy because I missed out on cannon firing and elves. The cumulative effect of all these server down times will probably prevent me from achieving the final prize. No word from EA about extending the event to allow for tappers to complete.

I'm sure those players who have not had connection issues will not mind this event hanging around for another 3 - 4 days.

Not working for me now either :evil: . Kept it on throughout the night So I could shoot the cannon when I had to drink some water/use restroom while sleeping. Was working just fine until I woke up for good just now at 9:30 ET/6:30 PT, can't connect.

Edit* was able to connect after about 20 mins.

Since the beginning of the event, the event itself was scheduled to end on the 18th. The deadline for the prizes was scheduled to be the 13th. I found that bizarre when the event began. So, extending the time to get to that final prize by 5more days would make absolutely no difference to those who already reach their final prize by the 13th. None of them would see any change at all.

Maybe it was a built-in "cushion" from the start, to avoid complaints from the few players who would hate hearing the event was going to exceed the players expected date. That's the only possible reason I can think of for the initial discrepancy.

it seems to go down in the UK just as the US starts waking up. I guess everyone is trying to get on at the same time and overloading the servers. It came back up yesterday during the evening here so I guess it'll be the same today.

I'm in Ireland and can't get on right now either but it was perfect between 10am-1pm and I managed to get all friend visits done so I'm more sympathising than complaining.

But to everyone that is here to complain there is no point this is a discussion forum for the players, if ye want to complain or want ea to notice you must use the other forum help.ea.com I think or something like that. This is just a general comment and not targeted at anyone in particular.

I and my partner are totally hooked to the game despite our ages (41).

Thanks to the game I have restarted watching The Simpsons on Sky 1 more often.

However I don't expect the servers to be 100% at all times. Imagine if your parents (if ya under 18 :) ) allowed you to keep the tv on 24/7 I'm sure you would get bored easily.

However there are two complaints I do have although these are more niggles than anything.

The 24 hour waits for some buildings are a pain as are the high cost of some buildings and characters whom don't do a lot as a return.

Also I have seen some fantastic screenshots in the showcase board and wish some folks wouldn't just pile endless buildings on their land for no reason.

Isn't one Krustyburger or Kwik E Mart enough? Twenty white houses in a row is also OTT in my opinion.

Can't connect to server again for over an hour now...........
