Out of curiosity, how far along were you in the first town when the questline appeared?

As for your Sideshow Bob question, most of us got him as part of an event. For newer players, multiple people have reported getting Bob at various levels. So far, nobody has been able to figure out why or when you will get Bob. If you want a reason why you are at level 939 and still don't have Bob, contact EA again, maybe you will have better luck with another agent.

I contacted EA help a few weeks ago in referance to the elf skins for Bart and Lisa not paying out event currency as advertised. They tried to dump me here, telling me that "the developers watch this site intently to learn of priblems with the game and its the easiest way for them to help you". When I told her she was full of it, and that I have been a regular here for years, she promptly disconnected the chat session without another word spoken.

I remember reading your post (long-time reader, first-time poster) and thinking how ridiculous that was that they did that. I spoke to someone at EA over the phone today who even admitted that was entirely the wrong approach and escalated my case. No update since. I do forget though: what was your final outcome?

Maybe this will help others - One interesting thing I heard today from a rep who was legitimately trying to be helpful: Apparently if they add SSB directly to your game (basically bypassing the questline), it can cause major issues later if/when the questline randomly triggers on its own so he's the one character they can't just directly add as necessary. That said, I thought I recalled people saying in another thread (maybe on a different site) that they got him directly added to inventory?

Either way, I'm currently waiting on an response from the escalation team about whether the questline is stuck and can be triggered.

Thanks @daved7637397 I appreciate the help. That seems to be their MO when they have no clue what to do. Sadly, I bet your case was closed as "resolved" too. And I have to say I agreed with you about those elf skins and, frankly, all of the premium characters/skins during the event that "earned currency". That was the first event in my limited experience wherein premium content was nearly worthless to the event itself.

Some of the EA chat agents don't even work for EA, they work for an outsourcing company that bids the lowest price on the contracts. The agents don't get measured on how happy you are or if your problem has been resolved. Their performance metric is how fast they get rid of you. Telling you to post on these forums for help seems to be fairly successful, as we see a lot of posters saying they were told to come here. Saving chat logs is useless, nobody will look at them, nobody will care, unless an agent does or says something indefensible. When you escalate the problem, you don't really get a supervisor or manager, just another agent that will go through the same things again. Managers and supervisors can't be bothered to deal with minor complaints, especially with non revenue freemium players. If you have a history of donut purchases, you might get better service, but if you don't pay EA any money, you should expect nothing in return.

I called EA a few months back after I had reached level 939 without the Bob quest triggering. They added Bob directly into my game. It was a 20 minute phone conversation and I needed to give them my (extremely long) game ID to get it done. It was a bit of a chore but the person I dealt with was friendly and patient.

This would be the next best solution (second to actually fixing the bug) so that the player gets to play through the quest line.
Players can use the info in the tips thread to find SSB once the flaw and order quest line is open.

Thanks!! The funny thing is, I got a "copy and paste job" of all of that information from the first of three EA reps EXCEPT he didn't include that last paragraph about adding the NPC to my town. Perhaps the third rep (the one who at least was nice and seemed yo geniunely try to help) maybe just didn't understand they can add the NPC version of Bob. I'm going to send that portion back to EA and see how they respond.

Hmm. Sounds like I got some misinformation today. And still no call/email since escalation about 8 hours ago.

@chadstraus97 did you like for SSB at Other Springfield a few times ? Did not found him anytime?
