Straight Tracks for Monorail

I'm getting this too. I have tons of curved and s-tracks that I will never use, and I'm getting only 1-2 straight tracks per week.

This is a joke, right? Except they just made people pay 400 donuts for the railyard that makes almost nothing that's useful.
  • I've now got 40 curved pieces of track

Something does need to be looked into about giving us more chance or the possibility of gaining straight pieces
  • I just did a track audit so you data crunchers can have another test sample to analyze. Here's the results:

    Straights - 59
    Curves - 31
    Shorts - 24
    Ess - 16

How does that compare? Does it support or contradict the supposed odds?

Incidentally, to complete my 5-stop loop i now need only 38 more straights and 2 "S" tracks. I have a surplus of 13 curves and no surplus shorts but there would be an extra 8 if ideally swapped for 4 more straights, which would mean needing 42 more straights instead. I wonder how long it will take to achieve them?

You are very close to my totals on those two pieces, making me wonder what your totals are for the other two shapes. Do you have ~60 straights and ~25 shorts?

At least if you put two S-tracks next to each other it will still work basically the same as two straight pieces. It'll just be a very interesting ride for the passengers. :)

ended up doing this to finally connect the loop on my rail.... 4 curves (same as 3 straight) and/or 2 S-curves (same as 2 straight) keep my design going in the right direction... just makes for a roller-coaster type ride for that quarter of the total loop.... I just swap out the curves with straight ones as I get enough.

they just need to introduce the Frink-de-curverator so we can run the curved pieces through it and straighten them

  • I am happy to report I have received 3 for 3 in straight track pieces today. I'll get the random 3 pieces in a few hours, let's hope this trend continues!

    How about you folks?

Three pieces of track and not a single straight piece. :-(
  • Not really seeing an increase in straights. But I'm still grinding. Only need 34 more straights.

I'm using the short straights in pairs, but behind buildings because i don't like the extra support columns.

Can't wait for this track to be done! I'm really glad i can keep on task and do Halloween. I'm wondering if I'll get the +5 donuts this time, but i think I'm on track.

Agree! It is sad that so many have expressed the need for long, straight monorail tracks, but the five weekly tasks still give curves, short tracks and waves almost exclusively. I was extremely disappointed to see the same old mix of lousy track pieces awarded in this week's Railyard jobs. Developers, have you seen the many, many posts requesting more straight tracks? Are you ignoring us? What is the motivation for giving these useless tracks? It's not as if we can purchase our preferred pieces with donuts! I just don't get it!

As an Update to this issue, I have received far more straight track pieces in the Railyard jobs this week. (10/5/2015). I still have a surplus of curved track pieces, but want to send Thanks to the developers for listening and responding to our requests! My monorail is finishing up nicely! :D
