- Quick trivia question, without searching: What temperature is the same on both Centigrade and Fahrenheit scales?
- I'm in Ottawa too! I'm hibernating indoors. Brrrrrrrr!

Finally, my beloved Beaver Tails. Oh Maple Glaze on mine please.
When you have one freshly made, nice and warm, you suddenly forget about the cold.
Nothing like it!
I'm a fan of the sunrise- cinnamon, sugar, with a lemon wedge squeezed on top. There sure seems to be a lot of Ottawa ppl on here. How coincidental!mike_bornste wrote:
For all of the complaints about the snow in the game, I will just say that we should all be happy that it is fake winter.
For winter has decided to take its vengeance out on Eastern Canada. Its currently -28 Celsius here in Ottawa, with a windchill making it feel as though it is -38. I was not wearing enough layers for my commute this morning.
Tonight, its supposed to drop to -32 with a windchill of -43.
I think I would prefer this forecast:

Small world. I ran from the car to the store and nearly froze my nads off.- I was waiting for someone to make this connection. As much as I love my long-suffering mother (who lives in California), I simply laugh at those Westerners who complained through their "cold spell" last week. These people complained at 40-50 degree weather. That's Spring in the Northeast and Canada. It was 7 degrees on Long Island this morning, and felt lower. I stood on a train platform this morning and watched a baby cry because she thought her poor nose was gonna fall off. Please don't ever complain aloud again Western United States.
- Going to be mid to high 70's here in DFW. Might have to turn on the a/c this evening. FML :/
- For those keeping track, today's weather is....still freakin' cold.
It was -25C with a windchill making it -36C.
When my car was sluggish turning over, I started to mull over alternate means of transportation to get to work. Here's what I was leaning toward:

Lol Mike!
Isn't the wind a lovely addition?
Absolutely.
I had to laugh this morning when my daughter asked me if they would be going to play outside at her daycare today. I told her probably not....- We had -27 F here at 7 AM this morning. It has now warmed up to a balmy -15. At least it's sunny! 8)

OT I am still reqding book one of 50 Shades and so far the best line is when her mum gives advice on men and tells Ana that men are a totally different species. Finally something valid.
I had forgotten that you were slogging through 50 Shades.
After living with my wife for about 10 years, I can well attest that men and women are different species. And now that we have kids, I marvel that they are even from the same species as us. Kids are weird... Even good, well behaved, non-ADD ones.
