To house farm or not to house farm?

Well thats up to you :-) here are the stats

Just Here

I've done purple just to gain money then as soon as the update comes out ill store them :-)
  • This cash flow problem stressed me out too. My key is to spend a couple days setting one hour tasks, you'd be surprised at the amount of cash you can make in one day. Mind you I do think I have all of the premium paying characters but still it does help to do the shorter jobs and collect regularly from buildings.

I have been putting all of my characters on one hour tasks today. I also bought the news van and accidentally bought Kearney, (boy did that pi** me off) . I'm in the process of building the hospital, I've been trying to put off buying buildings because I'm afraid of the harp freeze. Anyhow, hoping I can make money a little faster now.

Lol, till this day Kearney is my biggest regret!

Kearny and Shauna were in the same brown house together in my town. The brown house where he took his kid for the night and she was seeking inappropriate love.....Cletus was there too. My campground has 8 brown houses and yet they all used the same one.

Well I got a giggle out of it all.

I also like to make him kick things while "dancing".

I made most of my early game money from 1 hour tasks, they are very effective.
  • I lose about 1 friend every other week for one reason or the next. I'm not going to count it on house farming though. I keep all my buildings of precedence in the center and get a gob of visitors. So many today that I actually had handshake icons when I got back for the first time since v day stuff.

Over 1100 blue houses. If people hated them that bad to leave I don't see it. Probably 30 of my friends have Springfield sign and less than 10 have nothing in the 150+ donut cost buildings. I'd say over half have Halloween decorations up too, so not all young bucks.

I'm in awe of the fact that there are players with millions, how in the heck do they do that??

How long have you been playing? A while ago there was something that we called "the friend glitch". Basically when EA fixed the premium bonus (before you were not getting the promise percent increases) they created a situation where if you had a neighbor with premium items, you could benefit by entering and exiting their town many times before collecting money. The money collected would continue to go up with each neighbor.

I did the glitch three times and the first time I made about a couple hundred thousand. Then I figured out what I was doing and the last time I made millions.

I only did it three times because I realized that having all that money would take the fun out of the game for me so when the high priced items showed up? I bought them and all the land, blew almost all my money. BUT my town generates about 100K a day so I've managed to make some of it back up fairly quickly.

I've got all the premium items but not multiple of them, I'm not spending that much money on this game! LOL
  • Since the donut awarding bonus levels, I am sad to say I have started to house farm! But just on the edges of my town, and it's a necessary evil! I'm also trying to buy up all the land, so as soon as I have enough for the next piece of available land, I buy it, then fill it with blue houses, then wait for the next piece! Once I have all the land, and enough donuts to buy something good, I will be getting rid of them!

My town still looks awesome though, despite it's Eastern border! ;)
  • I've been playing six months, never house farmed and got everything except the stick tower because it costs two million and does nothing. I have mixed houses on streets so that hopefully it looks more like a normal environment. Never two of the same house together. I have all the characters and make them work every hour of every day. At night I set them on eight hour tasks and in the morning I give them twelves. In the evening I give them whatever I want to see, like sideshow Mel being shot out of a cannon into a black hole ! I have shelled out for doughnuts and premium stuff, but I believe the game maker deserves some income for the work put in to providing a game that I enjoy playing.
I have some friends who are house farmers and that's up to them.
I only drop friends who don't play, or who are quite happy to have people visit them and take the hearts etc but never return the favour. I don't need friends like that which is why at present I only have 58.
With this method of play I am level 26 and currently on my fourth set of bonus levels !

I've been playing since December, I guess I should have researched the game a little more when I first started. Da** it!

@baylensmom: I think you've done a good job so far considering you just started in December. I have a couple level 26 neighborinos who have less land than you and much less open space. I like what you did with the Town Hall & park. Setting the Retirement Castle back from the street is interesting - I'd like to see its residents playing on the volleyball court :). Remember that the more premium items/characters/buildings you have, the higher your payout bonus %. In the end, I think most of us OCD-types who play this game are NEVER happy with their towns - I know I'm not :(

@lissarv68: I took advantage of the Friends Glitch a couple times too. It essentially funded my purchase of the remaining land in my town. But like you, I determined it was taking the challenge out of the game so I stopped using it. I have about 120% bonus payout now. I can generate about $120k per day if I grind through one hour tasks, which I don't do often.
