If this game dies, it will be from a chronic case of EA.
Well put!cdepast wrote:
I know everyone wants to get feedback to EA - but this feedback also goes to potential new players. If new players read your feedback and dont join, then it will eventually lead to the end of this game. Your upset about an event that is one moment in time. Be careful who your intended audience is.
I appreciate what you are saying. If I'm interpreting it correctly, you're suggesting that we be careful what we ask for, and that there will be consequences we might regret. If I have gotten it wrong, apologies. :)
The people coming to the App Store ARE my intended audience. At least, EA should put it in the App store as a game of chance. It's not merely this one event. It has gotten progressively worse, from one event to the next, for six months now. We let our voices be heard months ago, and either they are deaf or they decided to displease us even more. This one was the worst.
Don't know whether you noticed it, but have a look at my signature. EA is announcing to millions on June 9th, at an Expo, live webcast included, that they are dedicated to providing a wonderful gaming experience.
Also, Have a look at their description of TSTO in the App Store. This isn't in the category with poker games or gambling.
So should not the space specifically devoted to customer input let the public know whether the game does what it purports to do? EA is speaking. They have really really big microphones. We are responding. That ratings section isn't a very big microphone, but its the best we have at the moment.

It is not only the two characters free, I would have paid donuts for these ! It is the chance based event, the one that no matter what you do, or how much time or money you spend, you are absolutely not guaranteed to get what you want, and see that others can have the same thing more easily. I have worked hard on this event, played every evening (like all the evening) and I should not be here, as frustrated as I am, almost begging to be able to purchase these characters, even though I spent 100 donuts.
So BRAVO Annettemarc for this initiative, I will write my own comments on that game.
but you are wrong. every prize is guaranteed after 81 boxes.
might be expensive but that is the most you would ever have to open to get everything. so technically look at it like that's how much those items cost and you might get lucky and not have to spend that much and you might get them sooner.
Never thought of that.
You are right, there is a cap to how much you would have to spend to get everything. Of course it is an insanely high cap, but still a cap.
It sort of changes my view of the changes that came with this event.

But, its more complicated than that. The only reason this miniscule group knows about the max of 81 boxes is that we have people who hack into the program code. So, yes, I agree that I can make an informed decision whether or not to spend a finite amount of money on an item or be patient. But certainly not because EA told me so.
There are millions of players. The overwhelming majority do NOT know they can make that choice. At game's end, they are Blocko-less.
If I don't even KNOW something is for sale, then how would I buy it? Why would I even ask?mamalettejen wrote:
There have been many instances of players buying eggs and having nothing to show for it.
That statement is 100% FALSE. Please show me when ANY player has bought donuts for eggs, used eggs on boxes and NOT won a prize. Just because it's not the EXACT prize they wanted, does NOT mean they have "nothing to show for it".hondab16tune wrote:

it is the truth..and no matter how frustrated I am about this truth, it is what it is and I did get some good prizes myself!! I did not get Hugs Bunny or Sharry Bobbins.. I want her soo badlyyy tho!- First off - I'm not suggesting that EA shouldn't hear negative feedback from customers. There were a lot of flaws with the event, and it's worth finding a venue to let them know. But if I'm a new prospective player, and I read this feedback I wont play it, because it sounds like the worst game ever.
But its a great game. IMO, one of the best city building games ever, or you we wouldnt be posting here and so passionate about it. Sure, if you spent money on eggs you are effectively gambling within the in-game event- but the game itself is a city building game, not a gambling game. Your issue is not with the game - but with the in-game events. And primarily because EA didnt manage your expectations. It's different then previous in-game events. Your preference is for earn based, vs. chance events to win items for...building your city. Nothing wrong with that opinion - and one I agree with. But does a 3 week event ruin the game?
But again, if people stop playing, or new people dont start, then EA will just stop releasing content and the game will be over. I didnt love this event, but I'd be sad if the game was gone tomorrow. Not because I'd miss tapping bunnies (I was sick of tapping ghosts, giving gifts, cards, etc by the end of every event) - but I'd miss the core purpose of this game - building my city. That's what the this game is supposed to be. Anything else (events) are just a bonus.
To me, if the events were always like this (from day 1) it wouldnt have changed the addictive reasons I play and enjoy it. My expectations would just have been different. So if you like city building, and want to see new level updates, and want to play more events - then rating the game a 1 probably doesnt make sense. If you hate the game, and have no intention to continue playing, then 1 star is justified. But then, what we doing here discussing it? hondab16tune wrote:
As for the people saying that it takes $100's of dollars to complete the event, NO IT DOES NOT. I have used 50 donuts TOTAL on this event and have EVERY unique item minus Shary Bobbins, and actually have 7 Kodos topiarys, and 8 Kang topiarys which are 15 donuts each, which would have been 225 donuts if bought outright
Well good for you, but please understand that the odds you experienced are NOT the same for everyone. Myself, I spent well over 900 donuts using $100 of my own money. Which, I am not complaining about as it was my free choice to spend the money... BUT it certainly didn't take me "50 donuts TOTAL on this event and have EVERY unique item minus Shary Bobbins" - Infact, I wasn't at that stage until my 2nd last gold box, after I had purchased 900+ donuts. My 2nd last gold box got me Hugs Bunny, and the very next gold box and my final available gold box, I won Shary Bobbins.
So please don't come here and preach to us like your experience is gospel. And if you really want to be taken seriously, opening your post with such a condescending line as calling your fellow forumites 'self entitled children' is definitely not the way to go.hondab16tune wrote:
All I am reading are SELF ENTITLED CHILDREN who think that EVERYTHING should be free. Get OVER YOURSELVES. When you first start this game you have NOTHING. As you level up you get TONS of free stuff, and of course as you start getting in the higher levels, you are going to slow down. As a "free to play" game, with the OPTION to spend real money to get other items, TSTO has BY FAR got the best free stuff out there and the most of it as well. You guys are VERY LUCKY that they didn't level cap it or not allow full access to all the features like other games do unless you pay real money.
I really do not understand how ANYONE thinks that EA, or anyone OWES them better chances because they CHOSE to spend money for donuts to take a CHANCE and then complain, NOT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WIN ANYTHING, BECAUSE YOU WIN EVERYTIME, BUT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T GET THE PRIZE THEY WANTED.
The only way that EA can keep giving us level updates, buildings, etc. is due to those players who DO spend money. If everyone just quit doing that, then the game would go even slower as the updates, buildings, and characters would stop. All this whining and crying has got to stop. It's sad that you guys/gals come on here and actually complain because you want everything NOW, NOW, NOW, and if by some chance you don't get it, you want to blame something that is behaving EXACTLY how it should. Think about it, if you were guaranteed all the prizes, and you had gotten them early in the event, what incentive would you have to play? Why not with these events EA just say "OK, here is the Easter Event, here are 7 new characters, 3 buildings, and 50 fences, keep playing!" Sounds kind of dumb, huh?
As for the people saying that it takes $100's of dollars to complete the event, NO IT DOES NOT. I have used 50 donuts TOTAL on this event and have EVERY unique item minus Shary Bobbins, and actually have 7 Kodos topiarys, and 8 Kang topiarys which are 15 donuts each, which would have been 225 donuts if bought outright. I also have gotten 4 baskets from boxes, so there is another 40 donuts. Not to mention that the characters if they costed donuts would be 60-90 donuts each, so all in all, not too bad of a return on investment. Considering some building WITHOUT characters are 120+ donuts, we made out REALLY GOOD this event.
Also nobody FORCED you to spend donuts. It all boils down to people being impatient and not wanting to wait. I did just fine collecting eggs, and with only 24 friends, I still had PLENTY of boxes to open and get all the prizes. I cleared my common and uncommon egg boxes the first week. Some may not have been so lucky, but in all reality WHO CARES. If you get stuff for FREE, why does it matter?
Hah! That part of your comment is the real kicker. You're essentially telling us to keep paying up and to stop complaining. You're not only saying that we need to shut up and not inform EA of our dissatisfaction, but that we need to keep giving them our money on top of everything. Your comment was good for a laugh. The fact that you think paying customers have no right to an opinion is just mind-boggling.eliansukke180 wrote:

There must be some players out there that have bought gold egss, opened the box, got pink or blue eggs in return. So there even if you think that egg piles and easter ponds are what you might call "something to show for it" there will be players that have gotten absolutely zilch in return.
Spend money on donuts -->> buy gold eggs -->> instead of getting something you would like to have, get pink or blue eggs -->> open a pink or blue box with those eggs --->> get less pink or blue eggs. Wow, what a prize! Youve certainly got something to show for it!! :?
Lol. So true, I don't know how many times that happened to me. Too many to count. It's like going to the carnival, paying for a grab bag (mystery bags that have random bric-a-brac in them) and opening it up to find a dog turd. Hey, you better quit that complaining. You got SOMETHING to show for it.
