- i cant figure out how to put the sd card in my phone
- Do you have a screenshot of TSTO on that thing?
- I moved the game to my card awhile ago, you do it using the phone OS, not from within the game.

Nah, bro, this is just an old issue on Android. My handset (LG Optimus F6) only has 2 gig of built-in memory, so I'm always hitting that wall with TSTO updates.
The issue specific to Android is that the Google bloatware they force you to have is irremovable ... you can't completely uninstall any of the Google apps, and they add up to nearly a gig of storage (wasted storage if, like me, you don't ever use those apps).
The way I work around this issue is that every time there's an update, I go into my Apps control panel, and one at a time select each Google app then clear cache, clear data, force stop and uninstall updates ... the updates all by themselves add up to nearly 2 or 3 hundred MB. Only when my fone indicates I have about 600 MB of free space am I able to successfully download & install any Tapped Out update.
The real root of the problem, however, is that the installer program that EA uses is a piece of crap. Most any update, your'e only really downloading 20 or 30 MB of stuff even tho the package installer thinks it's 250 MB (if it were dowloading the entire game plus all optional datasets all at once, then maybe 250 MB could be, but if you're just updating a game you've been running for ages, you are NOT downloading all that stuff, only the new stuff). And then even if it thinks it has to install 250 MB, it is still utterly and completely defective in that it won't install if you have anything near (god forbid less than) only 500 MB free space in your internal storage. That's just plain $hitty programming on the part of EA. And the fact they won't use your external memory / SD card. I've got a 32 gig card in my fone, but the installer don't care.
Addendum: like SteadyDuchess indicates, you can go into your Apps control panel and select "move to SD card" for TSTO and just about any App on the device (except, of course, any of the Google bloatware). I've moved every app I can to SD, and it still doesn't free up enough space. Even if you've moved TSTO to SD, the installer still only reads/measures your internal storage available when calculating whether you have enough storage to install the update.- Yeah, the app itself can be moved to SD all right, but that's only about 50 MB out of 300. So why can't all the downloaded game data be moved to SD as well, or even downloaded straight to SD?
EA managed to do the same with WORMS. If you move the app to SD, then all the game data downloads straight to SD as well. That's no rocket science, and would save both of us a lot of pain.
Edit: Here's the current breakdown of game storage from app settings:
App on device: 2 MB
App on SD: 48 MB
Data on device: 354 MB
Data on SD: 0 MB
So move to SD is little more than a joke... Moves the app, but not the game data. jankrohn wrote:

Look at Mr. Fancy Phone there. With his cordless flip phone and all. Try finding a place to put a memory card on this phone. The only possible place is the other guy that is takes to operate it and unless you are really good friends with him, it ain't happening.

Good Lord. It looks like they're about to dynamite a building with that thing. :shock:erchin8 wrote:
This is one reason why I refuse to get a phone that doesn't have an expandable memory slot.
Also, if you know what you're doing, you can root your phone and get rid of whatever bloatware you want.MuleHeadJoe wrote:

Two gigs of memory?!
Yup. Or as metroPCS likes to express the value "Up to 1.2 GB of internal memory" because they figure most consumers wouldn't understand the concept that some storage is reserved for the OS.
I know *about* rooting of phones, I've never done it, and I don't want to fumble my way through and risk screwing something up. It would really really suck if I bricked my phone just trying to make TSTO play better. ;-)cakeinvestigator wrote:

I don't think you can ... when I first encountered this "insufficient storage" problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times thinking there was some kind of bug/defect/glitch.
When installing from the Play store, there's no option to install to external memory / SD card. Maybe if the fone was rooted, or you had admin level access to the native Android installer package? I dunno ... but if you're downloading and installing from the Google Play app store (like most Android users) there's definitely no way to install it directly to card.
