UFC 6 Wishlist: Submissions and Parrying
Hey EA, I’ve been playing ufc games for more than half of my life at this point. So as someone that has experienced the online modes of each…Please fix the submission system. Bring the mini game back. Ufc 1 had a good one. I love the aesthetic of the chain movement you guys have made for submissions in ufc 5. However, if a player has no stamina all you have to do is try and submit someone a total of 3 times and on the third attempt they are basically guaranteed a win. It seems a bit cheap and predictable. I miss the mini game aspect where you really are actively trying to submit someone. Jiu jitsu is a lot like human chess. All be it distilled, ufc 1 captured the essence of that chess match which made it fun and exciting about going to the ground trying to submit someone, even defending a submission was fun. I’m not saying recycle the one you guys made over 10 years ago. What I am saying is the mini game makes submissions fun.
Bring back parrying. UFC 2 had head movement and parrying which was the best of both worlds and made for smoother game play. Also a huge part of what makes a fight realistic is parrying. To remove an aspect of defence like parrying was disappointing when you first did that in ufc 3. Every time a new ufc game comes out I cross my fingers and hope that this is the game where they finally bring back parrying.
Im enjoying UFC 5 a lot but none of my friends actually play it. You need to market it differently this time. I think what you guys did for ufc 4 was great. Build on that.
The movement. The lunges need to be longer. The ufc 5 beta had it perfect but then you guys nerfed it for some reason.
Striking while moving forward (especially with the likes of dricus becoming champ). Those blitzes are something that you would be able to do in ufc 1 where you would move the left analogue stick toward your opponent and punch at the same time. The distance that was covered back then was great. Please bring that back.
