So a couple things here that a lot of folks seem to be missing, and I want to preface this with this is not me standing up for EA/CM. This is just me sharing info with other rally enjoyers.
First, pretty much any modern online game uses kernel-level AC. So if you are worried about it, you should just stop PC gaming period. Or, be smart and aware about what you user your PC for, i.e. don’t do financial business or anything that uses your personal info on your gaming PC if you want to ensure your info is secure.
Second, the crash on game launch is more than likely caused by Secure Boot being disabled in BIOS. Enable it and the game will start almost guaranteed. Having Secure Boot enabled can interfere with some Linux distros, but otherwise is fine to have enabled.
For an added side note, current NVIDIA drivers are having serious issues right now, in both Win 10 and 11. Based on my research and what I am also currently running on my sim racing PC, 237.58 (Oct. 2023) seems to be the most stable currently and what a lot of people are reverting to. Just make sure to run DDU (display driver uninstaller) to ensure a clean reinstall of the older driver.
I have done these things and WRC runs better than it ever has on my PC.
I still think it is * that we now have a kernel lever ac on a racing game, especially a rally game, but yet we still can’t get proper triple monitor, or even proper ultrawide screen support, with proper projection when ACC has had it forever running the same engine.
This BS focus on the esport season, which everyone knows esport racing has been a failure for years, is stupid and is the same BS that Kyloton did when they had the license. Ignore the paying customer base to shill some stupid and unnoticed esport slop.
