You guys think it is fair to lock people out, who buy the game instead of subscribing to EA Play?
I'm not interested in the service, I'm actually not interested in any other game from EA, the only exception is the Mirror's Edge franchise and this game, because the team behind it has a very high reputation by me.
You guys should really consider making the EA Play content a separate DLC for buyers of the game, because there is no chance of a subscription from me, but I would buy the additional rally moments.
And...is the game always online or not? Are there any modes playable offline when the servers get shut down at some point (were talking about EA here)?
To end this on a positive note:
This game is the most anticipated game for me this year and so far it really looks good and all the information released so far is very promising.
If it can keep up with DR 2.0 and is polished at release (or at least shortly after), I'm a very happy gamer.
Thanks for reading.
I don’t think you are being locked out.
All the extra rally pass content, apart from the extra moments, are cosmetic so you can take or leave.
I would agree that they should allow the purchase of the extra Moments, if people want it but I’m not bothered. I think there will be enough moments to keep me happy.
The amount of content upfront is just staggering IMHO.
In terms of Servers, EA are not unique in this. Servers get turned off when it’s not profitable to keep them going or they have little activity.
I think it is following the way DR 2.0 works which is that it logs you into racenet and Moments is online so if they shut down the servers you would lose both of those.
I think the modes that aren’t online by definition are offline, such as Career and Rally School.

In addition, on the PS Store it does clearly state online optional so it would be incorrect if the main game mode (Career) required you to be online whilst playing it.
