I find it truly baffling that this game lacks telemetry. In 2023, it's almost comical that a racing game can be released without such a fundamental feature. Telemetry is the lifeblood of my sim rig, providing essential performance data and adding depth to the experience. Without it, I'm left in the dark – no dashboard to monitor, no buttkickers for road feedback, no ABS vibrations, and no motion rig for full immersion. It feels like I'm missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.
What's even more surprising is the absence of VR support and proper triple screen support, despite their official announcements. These features are key for creating an immersive, panoramic racing adventure, and their absence leaves me feeling shortchanged.
Additionally, I've come across minor visual bugs in certain stages, which, while not game-breaking, can detract from the overall experience. But the real frustration kicks in when I encounter lags, akin to rubber-banding, disrupting the game's flow. It's far from the smooth, immersive racing experience I'd expect in a game of this caliber.
Moreover, the asphalt stages, particularly in Croatia, are oddly perfect. There are no potholes, no variations in asphalt patches and so on....
One additional concern is that the track remains unchanged when I start as the 50th racer. There are no tire tracks or evidence of previous racers, which detracts from the authenticity of the experience.
Finally, it's disheartening to race through Monte at night without witnessing the characteristic glow of brake discs and catalytic converters. This visual element isn't just for show; it's a crucial part of the authentic nighttime rally experience. (in photo-mode or replay) It's these small yet significant details that add depth and realism to a game, and their absence leaves me yearning for the true, immersive rally experience I was promised.
