If not now, when?

I have played this simulator according to Steam 484.5 hours so you know I gave it all I had but this can't go on... not like this and whatever you did on the last update made it even worse so please for the love of all things rally fix this If you want details go drive it, seriously drive it then tell me honestly this is an improved version of the previous game. Dirt 2 was know for one thing and one thing only, the amazing physics, it just looked like an Indie game. That's why I played it for hours on end, because it felt like I was driving a rally car. I cant with this. I go a couple of events and I need a break.  What I thought was, and correct me if I'm wrong but when  a new version of a game is made available its supposed to be an upgrade not less. EA WRC is less or just plain broken. But I remained patient at the start. Even told the community to just be patient like we did when  Dirt 2 first released but things got better and kept getting better. That does NOT mean some gimmick feature it means FIX how it feels FIRST, but im worried that's not going to happen because all I see on the horizon is a bunch of gimmick features that will spike some interest for little while then die because it still feels like a cardboard box with wheels.

So when can we expect this sim to reach the level  that was promised from the beginning? Or are we going to see the bronken game polished with gimmick features so we will ignore how awful it is to play.

Going back to Dirt 2

  • They will not reach the promised level coz ive bet that soon they annouce the next iteration of this game.
This game is a devs playground with "new" engine and everybody which is not dumb can see the result of that experiment.
As for me i am tired of this.
My hope was to get an proper rally sim WITH VR but the actual status is just a joke.
I like the driving physics so far but this game should not be released in this status.
On top they will give us a anticheat which no one need.
I still read and check dfrom time to time what is happening but my game is already uninstalled.

I think this is the reason why the game wasn’t full prise (at least on console it was €40) It always felt i was playing a beta. The physics are fine but the graphics are a big dissapointment. I played Dirt 3 on my PS3 and even that game looked better despite the 30fps. Unbelievable…..

I don't really agree with you.

I've been playing Dirt 2.0 / WRC Gen / RBR and EA SPORT WRC.

I'm going to cut the physics into three surfaces. Earth, snow, asphalt.

    - Snow... No opinion, I never drive on it.

    - Earth... I don't think the game is inferior to Dirt 2.0. It's a pity that the spring action that made the car lean forward or backward during braking or acceleration is no longer there. Otherwise, handling is decent. But not so far from Dirt 2.0.

    - Asphalt... This is the big plus point of EA WRC compared to Dirt 2.0. Dirt 2.0 was so lame and far from everything that they could only do better. And this is much better. Not pure simu. But better.

The benchmark for rally simulation is still Richard Burns Rally. But to say that Dirt 2.0 was a simulation is a bit of a stretch. It's a simple Simcad like EA sport WRC.

For the record, I've got my own playseat, based on a bucket seat and Fanatec + LoadCell package, and I've been rallying since 2005 (RBR / WRC Gen / Dirt 2.0. / EA Sport WRC).

I admit you are right, I have returned to WRC. I think it's more of a desperate cry for them to make this better. They have an amazing opportunity here and it seems to me to be squandered. Oh well, maybe down the road they will figure it out. Until them Moments and Time Trials is all I do and that will have to do.

    Thanks for your comment,

  • Loosen up your rear springs and dampers. You'll find it more fun to play than DR2.0 after a while. Default setups are too grippy in the rear end so you get snap oversteer.
