Lock to horizon slider

With the elevation changes in game this title desperately needs a lock to horizon slider vs locked to car.

Completely immersion breaking (as well as annoying) that your view would be completely locked to the car, unless your crash helmet is rigidly mounted to the seat. Can't see anything of the stage coming up sometimes, you're just staring at the sky or the ground 4ft in front

  • One of the problems is that the decal across the top of the windscreen comes down so far that it blocks a lot of your view when in the cockpit camera. The Rally 1 cars are the worst, they are so bad that I just have to make my own livery, and not put a decal at the top of the windscreen, While this is a workaround, it doesn't solve the underlying problem of not being able to see well enough when in the cockpit camera.

Yes, we need this and like you say it need to be a slider between fully locked to car and fully locked to horizon.
Not only does this benefit visibility it also helps to keep the image more steady when going over bumps like your eyes/body would do irl when going over bumps.
Because of using the same engine the WRC team should look at ACC is that game has a decent way to deal with it. I run it at 50% in ACC as it balances it all.

@2655cee1567e59d4C4 WRC and Fiesta Rally 2 are also horrible. This is a combination being locked to car but also because of not being able to get closer to the dash with the POV camera.

There are adjustments for the drivers seat front/back, up/down, and tilt upwards/downwards. You might have to assign buttons to them manually though. And adjust them for each car unfortunately. They do seem to remain in the chosen position in each car though.

Doesn’t solve all issues, but does help.

@mistrelwoodThat is what I have been doing. It does not really help, even when moving all the way forward and go as low as possible. Ideally you want to have the steering wheel line up in position and size to the actual wheel you have in front of the monitor but with the camera movement being really limited this does not work for some cars. The only way around it might be using a really low FOV, as it would visually give the impression of being closer to the car window, but I am already running pretty low having it set at 24 (which should mimic a FOV of 30).

  • Lack of lock to horizon was the reason I returned F1 23. All the vibrations in VR gives me headache without this feature.

  • Fixed horizon (on/off) has now been added for VR users.

Now that this is in the game, this option should in the first instance be available to every one, not locked behind a vr menu.

But a slider like in ACC should be used as actually for monitor it's not pleasant fixed with fully locked to car or fully locked to horizon but rather somewhere in between

I initially had the same complaint then found being able to reset your VR view solves that. By sitting higher or lower in your seat then resetting the view before sitting back normally you can keep adjusting before you start till you get the view you need.
