Old Vs New Trigger feedback using Dualsense

I’m sure most already know that Sony updated hardware on Duel sense a year or so back. Namely adding stronger  springs to triggers and Stick durability.   So less stick drift…. But I’ve two new pads with left stick drift.  Apparently longer battery life… If they did it isn’t by much.

Also reduced input latency which is noticeable improvement depending on game.

Anyhow all the time I’ve been playing this game I’ve been using pad I use for all racing games.  As I’ve bonded a high rise extender stick to the pads left stick…. Makes steering so much smoother and precise.

However it’s a pre update pad.  But by lucky accident I forgot to charge it. So yesterday I used my new pad.   FFB and especially Trigger feedback is significantly better.  I’ve previously had ABS on one click because I couldn’t feel any real  resistance through the trigger.  But now as soon as I tap brake trigger response is instant.  Same with accelerator. I can now feel what the wheels are doing.

At first I thought it was due to the new patch.  But raced same stage at Mexico using both pads.  Force is strong with newer pad.

Just annoying I’ve unknowingly been nerfing myself for hundreds off hours 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄😂

  • on PC we don't even have any working haptic feedback at all, it sucks. Feels dead.

@euphoreonz Makes a nice change from my POV. As we console users don’t get all the bells and whistles having a PC gets you. Especially with anything Sony. If they had their way and I bet theve explored the idea off not using any third party hardware and software:
