Pedals compatibility

Hi,

I'm about to buy my first set of pedals and I was wondering if I need to watch out for compatibility.

I'm considering the Simgrade VX-PRO or VRS. Simagic P1000 are also still in the mix.

Are pedals recognised just like any analog controller or do I need to look for compatibility?
