Unfortunately... We WILL see WRC 2.

Codies got 5 years contract, as far as I know.... I guess "timeline" is going to be like this:

* EA WRC (current release) - game will be in "pre-development not for sale demo" status...
* EA WRC 2 (2024 end) - game will be in "early access testing" status...
* EA WRC 3 (2025 end) - game will be in "half-finished" status...
* EA WRC 4 (2026 end) - game will be in "FINISHED, at last ready for sell" status... (if we are lucky, we will get PSVR2 version in WRC 4.
* EA WRC 5 (2027 end) - 99% the same game as WRC 4 - no point to make much more effort than change driver names, when contact is about to expire.

So... I'm pretty sure, that first PROPER, playable game will be launched at 2026 end... Till then - no point to buy WRC2 and WRC3!

To be honest... I have to make a confession... I played "pirated" games before... Sometime in the early 2000s. Since I got PS2, I never pirated not a single game! I honestly thought, that no way I will ever play pirated game... But now? EA WRC is the last drop in the cup of suffering.

I have always hated pirated copies. Not only lost money for devs, but also lower quality games, I think. BUT... If I respect dev, then I expect, that dev respect me too! It's so sad, but honestly - I DON'T see big developers RESPECTING PLAYERS for a LONG TIME!

So - I'm sorry. Even if I hate pirated copies, even if I havnt played pirated game over 20 years - It's time for to go back to PIRATED COPIES! ... Just for sake of TESTING in what status they want to sell me the game.

PLEASE, Codies - a little more RESPECT for the players!!!

I registered on the forum to get on the complaints bandwagon. I play on PS5.
I never pre-order games because I don't see the point in paying a high price and buying games full of bugs, but I was very excited to play a WRC made by Codemasters again. Besides, seeing the game at a fairer price in my third-world country was very attractive, so for the second time in my life I pre-ordered, and for the first and last time I pre-ordered an EA game.
Supposedly it couldn't go wrong, there were several months to prepare after getting the WRC license, they already had expertise and a great game with Dirt Rally 2.0. Lots of people commented on YouTube "just improve the handling on asphalt, add the cars and the licensed championship and that's it, we don't need anything else". But of course, EA being EA, the game has been out for a month and a half and is completely broken, leaving us nostalgic for DR 2.0.
On PS5 and the screen tearing is worse than in version 1.3, stuttering still happens a lot, the career is no fun with the AI slowing down out of nowhere. What a horrible and sad thing.
DR 2 = amazing with 16 km stages at best.
WRC = awful with 32 km stages. I couldn't care less for longer stages if the previous game only had half but it was much better.

Played it on PS5 for several hours now. It is totally broken and even worse than 1.3! The tearing is SO BAD now it is unplayable!
