Suggestions for Improvements in EA WRC Esports Tournament and Game Features

For the next EA WRC Esports Tournament:

1. Obligate every participant in the tournament to record their qualifying tryout. If they make it to the top 10 (or top 8 or whatever top is decided), they must provide the recording to prove their legitimacy. If found guilty of cheating, they should be disqualified. Additionally, if they do not provide the recording, they should also be disqualified. Please ensure this information is clearly displayed, including the required software for recording, such as OBS, etc.

For the game itself:

1. I checked the leaderboard for some time trial records, and I noticed they were achieved with assists such as ABS. In my opinion, even with ABS on, these times are unrealistic and unachievable, raising concerns about corner cutting. For example, on the Greek Akropolis Delphi Stage, there is no opportunity to corner cut, and I am 100% convinced that the Time Trial record for Dry was achieved using cheats. Please use your Anti-cheat system to identify these patterns and prevent such behavior in the Qualifying rounds for the EA WRC Esports Tournament.

2. Allow players to change cars in Time Trial while participating in the stage, rather than having to return to the main menu. Every time I try a stage, I check all the cars to see which one I get along with best before going for the Time Trial World Record. Currently, if I don't like the car, I have to quit the Time Trial Stage and change cars from the main menu. This process is cumbersome. My suggestion is to allow changing cars within the stage. The flow would be: main menu --> stage --> dry/wet --> car choice --> driving in stage with the car chosen --> being able to change cars here. This would streamline the process significantly.

3. There are random PC crashes when the game loads the cars to pick for rally in Time Trial, and I am unable to close the game with CTRL + ALT + DEL. I have to forcefully shut down the computer by pressing the power button, then reset it to give the hardware time to cool down before rejoining the game. These crashes and stuttering need to be fixed before starting the esports competition. A player could get a good drive in a stage for 1st place, but if the PC crashes, their time does not count. If the decision is made not to let people repeat the scenario, that player's time is ruined. This issue needs to be addressed urgently.

4. I have found two bugs in the game. The first bug works like this: I fall off a cliff, and the race ends, but the car is reset on the road (which usually does not happen). If it is reset on the road, I can keep my foot on the accelerator. After I restart the time trial stage, the car usually stays still at the stoplight, but in this case, it goes slowly ahead during the stoplight countdown, and the timer does not count it. When the countdown finishes, I am already at the first corner, and the timer starts there instead of at the racing line at the beginning with the marshalls. Obviously, I restarted the time trial stage to avoid taking advantage of this and getting an illegitimate world record. Please fix this bug.

   The second bug is that sometimes when the game loads a Time Trial Stage, the car appears to be flying in the background for no reason, even though it should appear in some sort of garage or something like that.

Subject: Suggestion: Display Drivetrain Type When Selecting Cars

I have a suggestion that I believe would improve the user experience. When selecting a car, it would be really helpful if the game displayed the drivetrain type each car has (AWD, FWD, or RWD).

Currently, drivetrain types are only indicated in the names of certain classes, like H1 FWD, which tells us all cars in that category are FWD.

However, in other classes where the drivetrain type isn't shown, it’s hard to know what kind of drivetrain each car has.

Adding this small detail would make a big difference in understanding the vehicles we’re choosing.

This feature could be implemented as a toggle on/off button within the audio options, allowing players to choose whether they prefer the pure engine sounds or enjoy music while racing.

While I understand that rally racing is a more serious and immersive experience compared to arcade-style games like Need for Speed, I sometimes find the experience a bit monotone when it's just the engine sounds for extended periods. Having the option to listen to the soundtrack could enhance the enjoyment, especially in non-competitive modes like Time Trial.

This feature could also be beneficial in other EA racing titles, such as the F1 series. When I’m grinding for leaderboard positions in Time Trial, the repetitive engine sound can become a bit monotonous. Having the ability to listen to the F1 soundtrack during these sessions would be a fantastic addition, making the experience more engaging.

Additionally, it might be interesting to explore the possibility of including a feature that allows players to customize their racing playlist, perhaps even integrating with music streaming services and YouTube for a personalized experience.

Subject: Performance Issues in Time Trial Mode – Stuttering and Crashes

I’d like to bring to your attention a performance issue I’ve encountered while playing Time Trial mode. As I mentioned in a previous comment, I’ve noticed significant stuttering during gameplay, particularly when driving on gravel stages. This occurs regardless of the graphical settings I use, and it seems to be most pronounced when there are a lot of dust particles on screen, which I suspect might be contributing to the issue.

Unfortunately, this stuttering sometimes escalates to the point where my computer crashes entirely. When this happens, I’m unable to exit the game using CTRL + ALT + DEL, and I have to forcefully shut down my computer by pressing the power button. Afterward, I need to wait for my hardware to cool down before I can restart the game, which is quite frustrating.

I’m not sure if this issue is related to particle effects or something else entirely, but I wanted to report it in hopes that it can be addressed in a future update. Any optimization or fix you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I am fully convinced that my hardware is compatible with the game, so I don’t believe this is a hardware-related issue.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that the stuttering sometimes begins after pressing the Windows key to start a music soundtrack on YouTube. While this issue is most obvious after pressing the Windows key, the stuttering is present in the game even without opening any Microsoft Edge or Chrome tabs. Typically, the game experiences occasional micro-stutters and, at times, major stutters, especially in corners where there is a need to drift, either at the entrance or the exit.

However, when the Windows key is pressed, the game experiences constant major stuttering, not just in corners but also on straight sections of the track. This makes the experience much more frustrating and significantly impacts gameplay.

For the next EA WRC Esports Tournament :

1. Replay System Enhancement: Downloadable Match Replays

Please adopt a similar approach to recordings like Counter-Strike 2 . For example when a matchmaking ends there is a download button where we can see the replay of our performance and also enemy performance . For WRC Esports in the Leaderboard you could add a download replay button ( an icon with a arrow pointed downards a horizontal line ) and anyone who has the game can download the demo of any player from the leaderboard and you will not force anyone to use OBS or Steam Recording Tool to record the gameplay and send it to email as proof as some would find it maybe complicated . You can also download the demo from the leaderboard of the top 10 drivers or whatever top is decided .

2. Tournament Structure: Adopting a F1 Esports Model for WRC Esports

Please try to create a tournament similar to F1 Esports . For example in WRC Esports I saw only 4 people participating in the finals . How about adopting the F1 Esports Stages in a similar manner ?

F1 Esports :

Stage 1  :

- 2 Qualyfing events in the game - top 9 players from both events qualify to Stage 3 ( 18 players in total )

- 4 DHL Virtual Fastest Laps -  1 player from each event qualifies to Stage 2 ( 4 players in total )

Stage 2 :

- DHL Time Trial - 2 out of the 4 players get into Stage 3

Stage 3 :

- 20 virtual drivers ( 2 drivers / 10 F1 teams ) drive in a Pro Exhibition to showcase their skill and be picked by an F1 Esports team and all drivers are qualified to Stage 4

Stage 4 :

- F1 Esports teams picking 1 driver which means 10 drivers in total out of the 20 . This also means the picked F1 Esports drivers become part of the real F1 teams and work being paid in the simulator for F1 drivers .

How WRC Esports should adopt :

Stage 1  :

- 2 Qualyfing events in the game or more - a value of players chosen by EA and Codemasters from all events qualify to Stage 3 

- 4 DHL Virtual Fastest Laps - 1 player from each event qualifies to Stage 2 ( 4 players in total or a number chosen by EA and Codemasters )

Stage 2 :

- DHL Time Trial - 2 out of the 4 players get into Stage 3

Stage 3 :

- a value of virtual drivers chosen by EA and Codemasters drive in a Pro Exhibition to showcase their skill and be picked by a Rally WRC Team and all drivers are qualified to Stage 4

Stage 4 :

- WRC teams selecting a driver from WRC Esports can significantly impact the competition, as it allows a highly skilled virtual driver to outperform other participants. This selection process also means that these chosen Esports drivers could become integral members of actual WRC Rally teams, receiving payment for their work in simulators or potentially advancing through the ranks to WRC 1 via results in WRC Junior and WRC 2, similar to the path Jann Mardenborough took with Nissan through the GT Academy. Many aspiring race car drivers lack the necessary funding to pursue their dreams in this expensive sport, but if a player demonstrates exceptional talent in virtual racing, perhaps a real motorsport team might give them a chance.

For the game itself:

1. Feature Retention Post-Reinstallation: Save Settings and Setups

I dont know if this works , but have the game remember the settings we had chosen and the setups which we had saved for each car from each class after we reinstall windows .

2. Icon Explanation: Clarifying On-Screen Symbols

I also am not sure very about this but when I get before a corner I get on the top of the screen 3 icons and I dont understand what they represent . The turn which I had passed , the following 3 turns or just information about just the next turn .

3. Customization of In-Game Icons and Legends

Please create a list in the game of these icons and explain them . Besides them give us the ability to us to rename them and create a legend which we understand and easily remember . I dont remember how the icons are named in the game , but after them I can create 2 types of legends which are far more easier to understand ( the list is not complete and is just an example ) :

Legend 1 :

- Light Turn

- Medium Turn

- Heavy Turn

- Hairpin Turn

- Obstacle 

- No Sight

- Etc .

Legend 2 :

- Full Throttle , No Braking

- Medium Throttle , Medium Braking

- Light Throttle , Light Braking

- No Throttle , Heavy Braking

- Hairpin Turn

- Obstacle

- No Sight

- Etc .

4. Timing and Presentation of In-Game Icons

Please also give us the ability to choose the timing when these icons appear on screen . As I mentioned above I get 3 icons before I get to a turn and I dont like it . There is too much information to digest and remember as I need quick reactions . I would like the icon to appear right before I get to a turn , one icon at a time , icon then turn , icon then turn , something like this and not 3 icons before a turn because I dont know when each one is and how to react to this information . One icon at a time is much better for best reactions possible .

5. Career Mode Simplification: Streamlining Event and Vehicle Management

Please there is too much information on the Calendar and I dont know in what events I am supposed to participate , what cars I am supposed to buy and how I can scout teammates . Here I dont know what suggestions to give , but please make more order and dont give so much information . For Week 1 I have for example 7 events but can participate in only 1 and that is either buying cars or participating in a WRC event for my car class , but what I dont get is why do I get other classes since I am unable to paritcipate in them ? Makes no sense . 

6. Cross-Compatibility of Vehicle Setups Across Different Cars and Stages

When I save the setup I made for a car I can not load it to another car and I have to do it all over again in Time Trial . I understand that cars have different performance and tuning setups , but Alignment , Braking , Damping and Gears can be 100% identical and the other Differentials and Springs can be automatically changed with the help of AI to a close resemblance of the previous setup even the performance and tuning setup is different . I dont know how to explain this better . I also want to mention that I like that I am able to load the setup on other stages of a country rally for example from Stage 6 to Stage 1 , but I wonder if its possible to do the same for other countries . Like using the setup from a country to another country ?

7. Time Trial Ghosts: Permanent Toggle Option in Settings

Please give an option in Settings to be more specific in Game Preferences to deactivate the Ghost in Time Trial . There is already a Ghost setting in Time Trial called Ghost Sharing which can make the ghost accesible to download to other participants in WRC Esports . What I want is an option for my ghost to be Turned On / Off when I race for a new time trial personal record . I feel stressed when I see my own ghost and I saw that there is already an option to turn on / off ghost in Event Details - > Ghosts --> Personal Best On . Every time I have to turn this off and I feel annoyed . Why cant this be permanent from Main Menu settings ?

8. Fanatec CSL Elite F1 Wheel: Customizable Button Mapping

I am unable to change buttons on my Fanatec CSL Elite F1 Wheel . I wish I could add a button to reset my car . I can only do it with the keyboard by pressing ESC - > Reset to Track .

9. Rally Pass Accessibility and Claiming Rewards

Make Rally Pass available to everyone even when it changes similar to F1 Esports . I had paid a lot of money for this game and I dont have the Rally Pass . Or it does not work properly . For example I can access it , I see a lot of items called " Free " after I get more XP or rank UP in levels , but I am unable to claim them despite them being unlocked . They are just there waiting to be claimed , but there is no button for this !!! Its either a missed coding button , or people need to pay to have access to the Rally Pass . I see no other possible explanations .

10. Testing Co-Driver Language in Customization Menu

In Customisation - > Driver Details - > Co-Driver Language , there is no button to test how the Co-Driver sounds like . I would love to see how English #02 sounds like but I am unable to do it . On the other hand I can hear it if I choose it in options and then go to a rally stage , but I dont find this process efficient as there must be a button to test how the co-driver sounds like . And if I want to switch to English #01 I have to go to the Main Menu all over again and then restart the Rally Stage . This is not good and a waste of time .

11. Co-Driver Nationality: Customizable Options for Nationality Flags

Co-Driver Nationality -> Its directly dependent on the Co-Driver Language Chosen . If your Co-Driver Language is English , your Co-Driver Nationality is British . I am an Eastern European and on my rally cars I have the flag of my Eastern Europe Country and the flag of the UK of the Co-Driver . I wish I could change the Co-Driver Nationality to also the Eastern Europe Country I am from and have 2 Eastern Europe Country flags on the Rally Car . I added for fun on the rally car my name and my father's name , but I dont like the fact that we dont have / share the same nationality . You could copy paste the flags from Country / Region of the Driver and add them to the Co-Driver as well . The Co-Driver could continue speaking English but I wish I could change his nationality .

3. Time Loss & Gain Analysis: Offer a breakdown of where time was gained or lost in specific sections (corners, straights, etc.), compared to AI benchmark laps or even the player’s own best performances.

4. Consistency Rating: Evaluate how consistently the player maintained their average speed across multiple laps or stages, and point out areas where performance fluctuated.

5. AI-Suggested Driving Tips: Provide AI-driven feedback on specific areas of improvement such as braking points, acceleration control, or gear usage to help players boost their overall race pace.

Subject: Request for Stage and Full Rally Time Records Feature

Hi EA WRC Team,

I’ve noticed in Time Trial stages and other game modes that there is no visible real world record for each stage. In comparison, the F1 games feature the fastest qualifying lap and race lap. However, I couldn’t find any similar data for rally regarding records for each stage and the full-time record across all stages within the game and on the internet as well.

I believe it would greatly enhance the experience if we had a table showing the following information for each country and rally stage:

• Year of the World Record
• Country
• Full Rally Time Record (from the first stage to the last)
• Stage Record
• Car Used
• Pilot and Co-pilot
• Time

Having this data would allow players to benchmark themselves against the world’s best times and add an extra layer of competitiveness to the game.
