Tire wear

I wonder what's the point of tire wear if I can't monitor tire wear during a race and relate it to my driving style.

It seems to me that in this game many things have been added haphazardly just to be able to make numbers

  • @sghiwoshWhen driving in real world you cannot monitor your tyre wear using a hud.  Plus none of the stages are long enough to have an effect on tyre wear where you would notice unless you’re just doing burnouts.   How it depicts it in the game is pretty much how you would do it in the real world.  Where you would check it in-between stages.

  • You didn't really answer his question though, Has anyone even notice having new tires between stages helps with grip because I sur as hell haven't.

@xX_PlagueDog_Xx I don’t know for sure how long real rally tyres would last. But considering how short stages are I can’t image tyre wear is ever going to be a huge issue. So unless you’re an ultimate sweat I don’t think you’ll ever notice.

I am playing with the steering wheel and I would say tire wear is much more pronounced in EA WRC comparing to DR2.0.

I can actually feel less grip, especially if you kept you tires more then intended interval. Very light change, that you can probably feel only with FFB steering wheel that may result in a couple of seconds in the end of the stage (or ending up in the ditch).

But yes, to really think about tire strategy you have to play some very long championship like Official WRC club championship. There were a service interval of 5 stages, that by the end you do notice tire wear and how it effect on controls even on hard tires.
