WRC has a long way to go, I just had a blast in DR 2

I just wanted to do a quick comparison in DR2, but after the first daily event DR2 was so much more fun than WRC that I had to go on for 3h.
The road textures are not so blurry and look much better than in WRC also the cockpit view is better. Above all, the driving is so smooth without micro-stutters and the pace notes are well timed.
Also, the correct gear shifting (sequential, H-shifter) when changing cars creates so much more immersion.
Ok, I have to admit I drove in VR, which is more fun anyway. Scotland with the Ford RS200 in the weekly event was a blast.

I can only hope that WRC 23 will be significantly improved, it can't stay like this, even the better FFB or the long (but monotonous) stages won't help.

  • I also went back for a go of dirt rally 2 on ps5.

I cannot believe how good it looks, how smooth it runs, and how challenging it is.

it’s like every single thing I want in a rally game, it has it.

    it’s superb.

EA WRC is very good also though. It just needs improvements across the board, bugs ironed out.

I'm hoping they haven’t just put the game out and rest on their laurels or bask in the fact that they’re codemasters, who made dirt rally.

this franchise could be superb. The foundation is there. Just needs the effort to fix what’s broken/not great.
