1.9.0 Moments — No server connection, no credit for completion at all?

Summarize your bug 1.9.0 Moments - If unable to connect to EA Sports, can we please at least keep the medal even if our time doesn't make it to the board??
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I was playing last night and (possibly due to CrowdStrike) was unable at multiple instances to connect to the servers. Completed a very long Moments run and did not get credit for having created it because I couldn't connect to the server. You'll have to simulate no server connection, obviously.
What happens when the bug occurs? When the bug occurs, player not only doesn't get a time on the board, but also doesn't get credit for the medal they achieved.
What do you expect to see? While I understand not getting a time on the board, I am pretty bitter about losing the medal. It was a TWENTY minute run, which I will now have to repeat at some other point when I regain the will power to attempt it again. Basically an hour of my life gone (I made multiple attempts) because the servers were down. Ideally, I would at least get credit for completing the Moment still.
At this point I am uncertain if this was caused by an actual outage to the servers or if it's a 1.9.0 bug that caused this, because I was only getting the server connection failure sometimes when I fell of a cliff. Other times it would go through just fine. (Like a 1 in 3 chance of server connection failure.) As per my notes above though, I hadn't realized that even if my time didn't post (which I was fine with), I didn't realize I also wouldn't get credit for completing the Moment.
The Moment in question is Season 5, Determination, I think? It's a 15 mile run through Greece in a Toyota Yaris at any rate.
