After opening squence screen goes black

Sorry to say that after the last update I can't seem to launch into the game.   After the opening sequence with EA Sports and then the Codemasters screens it goes to black.   I then have to go into Task Manager and stop the task.   I am using a modern PC with a 4080 video card.  Game worked fine until the last update.  Not sure what happened so I have tried everything I can think of to get game to work.   Using Steam to Launch, launching direct from exe file etc.   Can't find an error log that shows the problem.

I have already verified the files several times.  Reloaded the game to the C drive.   Changed all of the possibilities in the file launch sequence and looked for everything that might possibly be interfering.   Can't find anything.  If I can help to solve this I will certainly try.   Don't know which log files might help you.   thanks for trying to solve this.  Let me know what I might be able to do.

Sincerely -  Keith

  • Problem Resolved:   After trying anything I thought might affect the game I finally looked at my Nvidia Driver to see if it was the latest one.   I had just put in the newest driver at the first of January but of course they came out with a new one January 24th.   I updated to this and it worked again (driver 551.23)!   I still have no idea why a driver would affect the boot up of a single game but I have learned not to try and figure out the issues with WRC.  At least it works again.  Hope this might help someone else.

Guess you might try to roll back to a video driver that worked before the updates.   If it works then driver related most likely but if not then hard to tell what went wrong.  Not much help but at least something to while away the time!
